Handling wise. Raise front and rear ride height by 1. Then it feels like 2.07

It seems like the sports tires wear a tad faster, and the racing tires actually last for a good stretch of time for once. 👍 Sure, it's not perfect, but it's damn better than the previous model. It's also nice that drag at least has some effect. I'm sure it's still not enough, but they're getting there, and it's very encouraging for GT6.

They've added the draft to free run.

We found out the hard way :p
The car handles different too. Steering is number, more pointy under brake and turn-in but has alot of exit understeer.
Also locks up easier under hard braking.
My tire wear is still good relative to others but it's no longer even, the rears wear more.
And that's the big thing with the update, the tires last damn long now.

Better on a Tuesday in practice than in the race! Haha
The wear is slightly different front and back for me. But not like yours.
Now pretty hard to run out of grip on last lap as you see it coming way early now.

hey guys I've started a new league for the Caterham 7 fireblade take a look at the OP (Mid-week Caterham Racing League or MCRL

Just did a tyre performance test.

Using my QUALIFYING setup. Allowed the car to slide. Usually 4 laps shorter than my race setup.

Did 16 laps before the tyres were no longer driveable and had to pit.
That was a full 30min. So half race distance.

Race days just got alot more interesting

Yea we'll have to run Racing Softs to induce pitting again. 1 stopper pit strategy for all 100km races.

I still think a 1 stopper will be interesting strategy wise. Do you pit late to have fresher tyres at end? Pit early to not lose time on old tyres? Or pit at halfway?
La Sarthe will be a 3 stopper probably

were u guys racing at

Twin Ring Motegi

Lol, that's true I've seen both of those strategies win & loss over the past series I've been in. If I'm lagging the leaders I pit right at the halfway mark and eat into their shot tires, and If I'm leading I'll pit at the 75% mark and re attack their gains from a earlier pit stop with fresh rubber at the closing of the race. And If it's a dog fight the whole way there then 1 lap earlier then them for track positioning! 👍

Yeah exactly. It's much better than everyone dragging out their tyres to match the guy who can go the longest as it is now (at least amongst the GT500''s).

Will be interesting to see if someone can nurse their tyres and do the entire race without pitting...

Well if there's anyone crazy enough... :sly:
I might try but as the car eats into tires I wear them quicker too.
As long as the tires wear consistent and brake bias is right I can drive the car even with completely shot tires.

But Im worried this update will make the car oversteer like a biatch on entry late in a stint. I have to use a very weird line as is already.
Maybe we should run racing softs and add 100hp?

I don't think we should change the rules 2 weeks from end of season.

And this long tyre life is good for the 2h le Mans next week....

I know what you mean. Takes me ages to get to half life. Then the half left lasts me what feels like 2 laps lol.

From what I felt last night, the rear likes to enter the corner first on worn tyres. :S

Im thinking of bringing my brake bias down to 4 1 and I wonder if differential tuning can help stabilize the car.
Maybe also up on the rear bar to get rid if that exit understeer if the differential does not fix it... Ah I suck at setup.
I will 99.9% qualify tomorrow, what times are you guys getting?

I'll help with setup when I see you next.

Got down to a 1.50.3 yesterday

Just ran 502bhp with racing softs. Lasted 13 laps qualifying spec. So race spec would still last over half distance. Lol.

If youre having understeer coming out of corners, which is weird, raise the initial torque and acceleration sensitivity a lil. Maybe harden the rear springs

Is there a weight rewards list? And an amount of laps figured?

What! Please tell me the new F1 2012 game comes with this "VIP Pass" when you buy it brand new.

Sorry if its already been covered but what tire compound are we using now that the tire wear is better?

XxShaggxX
If you buy it brand new it comes with it.

Ok. I dont understand why games do that. Well yea I do but its ******** lol

Yea in the future we're going to have to run racing softs to induce pitting for 100km races. Instead of everybody racing GT300's on hards to get resonable tire wear now you can have a 1000hp prototype around Nurburgring 6 times before even pitting. A lot of people may think thy gave us a lot of tire wear, but it's worked out so Proto's tire ripping guys can run a mimic Le mans race with matching tire wear now. And low Hp GT cars are back to the 1 stop strategy. I'm thumbs up for now, pit strategy is based of fuel consumption now!

Can't wait to try the new setup, ZACH, WHERE YOU AT!? :p

Sitting on the store menu debating whether to buy the Honda HSV. Haha I can't decide.

Edit. HAHAHAHAHA I NEVER NOTICED I HAD £3 unspent. Easy decision

I guess it boils down to price. But I say save your cash for a wheel and coffee table plus some zip ties. :p
I used to race controller (now I suck at it) and with a wheel + all aids off the feeling is just...Wow.
