Correct! 👍 I think SERGE.DENAYER should have a turn too, since he figured out it was Gerry Rafferty. The song was 'Baker Street' and still gets played to death on the radio. Rafferty used to be in a band with Scottish comedian Billy Connolly (The Humblebums) and he was also in the band Steeler's Wheel who wrote 'Stuck In The Middle With You' which featured prominently in the film 'Reservoir Dogs'.

I'll give you a hint too. The name of this band was featured in a joke on one of the Austin Powers movies also the ablum title has the same name as a movie starring Will Smith. That should make it easy. :D

The artist is a producer and musician who has collaborated with the Beastie Boys many times. That should help. 👍

Little early, but since I'm turning in......

1st set of clues: It's from a band..... a duo. They are from NY, very original, and had pretty strong cult following since late 80's - early 90's.

Since Speedy was so kind as to go offline without posting a new one, I'll do the honors.

 
Time for a clue maybe.

This band started out in 1968, and this album is from 1978. It was the final album for one of the members, who left after this record was launched, only to return to the band in 1991.

In charge of the cover design was a British design group called Hipgnosis, who specialised in creating cover art for rock albums, most notably for Pink Floyd, Genesis, Led Zeppelin, Yes and Black Sabbath.
