I'm pretty sure I would've too, but when I look at this car in GT5 I can't help but feeling they look slightly similar.

They make me think of the Dodge Viper GTS racing mod that was in GT1 & GT2 that I wish was a racing mod for the Viper GTS in GT5.

The Mitsubishi FTO Super Touring Car is a reminiscent of the FTO LM Edition from Gran Turismo 1 & 2 in my eyes, but it's not the same type of race car though.
