The other common VW Based kit car was the Bradley GT but im not sure if they ever had power assisted doors because the ones you see most here in the UK are the VW Nova's.

Are you talking about a Nova Kit-car? That´s what I thought of when you said it technically has no doors...

Sorry, I only just now saw that Nova was already mentioned... hmmm..

I believe I may have mis-read my facts a little. This is actually based on the Nova kit car, but was licensed to be built in Australia and had a different headlight design from 1976 to 1991. Hopefully that should make this easier.

Sweet, the 3 cars i listed where all in the "Nova" family :).

The clue to the car i have in mind is , its very little , wasn't seen in many rally because it was simply too good, and to top it off it is British.

This car was at one time heralded as the fastest four seater in the world, and used a straight 6 for power.

Featuring a tune from this manufacturer's racing division, 19" wheels and a new Heico exhaust system, this European four-door sedan packs a 3.0L turbocharged inline 6 producing 324hp and 354 lb-ft of torque.

Oops, forgot about this, sorry. Right, this car was part of a family of four large SUVs sold by a large carmaker. It was the most upscale of the four.
