Macchi M.C.202'Folgore'?
Close, but no guitar. It's actually a C.205, which I've been guessing for any low-wing, single-engine, one-seater that's been posted in the last 6 months. Greycap is just doing me a favor by finally making the airplane match my guesses...

Very true, it was finally time to get that ghost hunting you off your back! and in other words Duke scores, go ahead with the next one! - R -

Away from the military stuff for a bit:

Closer, but still no guitar. It is a post-war aircraft from the glory days of private aviation, though. The cowling will give a hint about the manufacturer.

After some really serious researching (I'm not that good with civil planes) I managed to identify it as a Piper PA-6 Sky Sedan. :)

Closer still..

*ding ding ding* From the days when everyone expected that the average family would have 2 cars and an airplane. It even looks like a 1950 Ford greenhouse plopped on top of the fuselage. You can see dad, mom, buddy, and sis out for a Sunday drive... errr, flight.

Your turn, Greycap!

Here we go again...

There weren't too many planes with a configuration like this so it shouldn't be too tricky. :)

Clue? Sure...

There has only been one WWII closed cockpit single-seater biplane fighter with a liquid cooled inline engine that I know of. This is the one. The selection is very narrow. :P

It looks French, but anything by Dewoitaine or Moraine-Solnier that was that streamlined was a monoplane... going to have to think a bit more.

I do believe that's correct. *toddles off to confirm* Yes, it's the VariEze, a Burt Rutan-designed homebuilt.

They're kinda cool, but I still prefer Jim Bede's BD-5 and BD-6.

Post one up, Greycap!

Yes, you do! The rudders are telling me Beech, the cockpit is saying North American, and the midwing layout and engine nacelles are saying 'something else'.

One of those is correct. To make this interesting, I won't tell you if it's Beech, NA or "something else" but I can assure you it's one of those. :P

That's a bullseye Serge! It seems that there just can't be an odd enough plane for some people! 👍

Your turn...
