I'm almost done. Will post in a couple minutes, but it will take a while for you to guess it.
It will be very tricky, I can assure you that.

"And as the stars and the stripes began to end, and as the wings of the gulls began to come into sight, 403,400 people sat down and cheered."

No. I said this would be difficult.
As a six-part riddle, it would be.
From now on, could you possibly post how you arrived at your answer? This one could be interpreted a couple different ways, and I am interested to see how you all work through it.

OK, if you want, seagulls :)

Just thought, Indy?

Stars and stripes need no explanation, and IIRC there is about 400.000 spectators at the Indy 500

Wrong. Your interpretation od "stars and stripes" is also wrong, if you can wrap your mind around that. :sly:

Yeah I figured it would be too obvious  I was wondering what role seagulls would play :)

OK, stars may refer to those on the skies, stripes maybe stripes on the road, 400.000 people.. La Sarthe?

That doesn't really apply to ANY of the riddle.
The most important parts of this riddle are the number at the end and the "gull" remark.

Oh, yes, gull :ouch:..

Tsukuba? Or just maybe it's Suzuka East?
