I'm the same.
When I make a mistake I almost always end up with my nose square to the barrier.
It seems to take me forever to get going again.

I say almost because I did have one good save.
I would have blown the engine, gearbox, and diff., but nobody cares about those minor details. :sly:

Final lap, almost got my position back.
:D

Funny you talk about blowing a tranny. David Freiburger does the same in the latest episode of Roadkill. He and Mike Finnegan were touring a clapped out Ford Econo Pickup that was clearly hot rodded/rat rodded. To get it to do a decent burnout Dave tried to Back up and jump to drive to break grip and spin up the tyres. You see the prop and the back of the transmission hit the deck and the pick up puke fluid everywhere. Very spectacular and very funny.

For some people, blowing a tranny is the definition of fun. #dontjudge

I know the OP’s feeling, GT games have always had the ‘hand of god’ punishing you after a spin. Make a mistake and lose control? Well, we’re taking over and you’re going to pay by making your life miserable. I became so used to facing the wrong direction that when I’ve spun in other games and actually faced the correct direction I thought something was wrong.

These physics must be built into the game.

Using the toast and a cat to create infinite perpetual energy, hope others find this informative.

Where, uh...where's that output shaft to the generator?

Reminds me of the Tabby Tote...

That's it my friend! Maybe you had to start this topic, because you make it much more understandable then I did.
I have the same feeling all the time. You couldn't have said it better.
Thing is.....is it me or the game?
I think its the game and then I have to accept it. If its me, then I have to learn!

It’s a combination of both; the trick is saving yourself the moment you realize a spin is going to occur. I’ve learned that once you’ve lost control it’s basically game over and you’re going to see a windshield of armco or your opponent’s headlights.

No seriously. Just shift to reverse and wait for the tires to grip again before shifting into forward gears. This saves me in about 80% of my spins.
You will lose speed for sure but half the time I don't even come to a stop

I can confirm, reverse works to get the car pointed the right way

Now if only it was still traveling the right way....

I guess technically it's still pointed backwards :/
