So yeah, it started like two days ago... I'm surprised no one is talking about it.

I've been dissapointed with the coverage so far on the Gumball3000.com website, there has not been any video coverage whatsoever of the race itself, just day one events.

This is the time where I wish I was in the UK, I hear Extreme TV is having the full day-to-day coverage of the event for the next week. It sucks not having the channel here in the US!

Anyone know if any videos have been posted elsewhere on the internet? I'm interested in following Team Polizei, as I hear they not only will be running the notorious M5, but a highly-modified Continental GT as well. Other than that, I'd like to see what Team Jackass (Bam Margera, Ryan Dunn, Tony Hawk) are all doing as well... Should be fun to watch...

Why don't they have anything like this in Can, or even the US? I'd so be out there in my 'lude tearing up the highways. Sure, i'd probably come in last place and put shame on my family for years to come, but i'd have the most fun ever! :D

Go to www.teckeast.com and go into the forums, Dustin and Dado from the Mischeif series are on the rally right now and there is a bunch of info, pictures, etc on the forums.

Maggot of Goldie Lookin' Chain is in it

When I heard they were goin from London to the USA I hoped and prayed they'd go across the atlantic.... No such luck :grumpy:

The third leg of the 2006 Gumball will be going from Salt Lake City, UT to Los Angeles, CA at the end of this week (I want to say Friday and Saturday). There will be a big afterparty at the Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hills, and I think there was an invite thing floating around on the Gumball Website...

Anyhow, I found some videos on YouTube from day one, including a few racing vids... But nothing spectacular so far. It would be nice if they put out a DVD or something, or hell, updated the f'ing website once in a while.

They (I belive) are on planes now, headed twards the South Pacific (I think Thailand) for the second leg...

Hopefully SPEED will take a break from showing and talking about NASCAR to show some clips from the 3rd leg. If not, I suppose one of the news casts will have an expose on it.

Images #1: I'm surprised someone is risking what appears to be a 250GTO, and the folks in the Ultima GTR and what appears to be a Radical are insane. Thats too little car for way too long...

Images #2: I'm happy to see the photos of the Polezei 144 car, and I'm surprised they have gone without the M5 this year. Although he did talk about the Conti-GT, I'm surprised they were pulled over as well...

Images #3: Damn, I wish I would have been in London for the start...

Yeah, they've confiscated about 14 licenses as well in 1 night from what I heard.

I've been trying to contact my relative in England who is a car fanatic, but I haven't had any luck, and he may be gone.

Anyways, I didn't know Team Jackass was still running these events, but I don't think they're the same without the original guys.

Dustin, the guy from Teck, said him and Bam got in quite the race the other day.

This...

It finishes right by my friends house...and I have to drop him off there sunday. I think I might go and check it out.

...I know Bam and Dunn are in the Gallarado, the rest of Team Jackass lead by Tony Hawk is in a Jeep Cherokee SRT-8.

Darryl Hannah has a Range Rover that is running on biodiesel...

I've only seen one Z06, there are two SLRs that I have seen so far, but what amazes me is the ammount of former racecars running in this years event...

I wonder if there will be another "6 days in May" DVD that comes out? I know Mischeif 6 will have a ton of footage in it and will be out shortly after the rally.

Ouch, I wonder what happened to the Rolls?

...And I've been seeing the picks of the messed-up Cayman since day one, I wonder what happened there as well?

I saw a vid of the gumball ages ago, would of been 2004 or 2003. Was quite crazy, crusing around 260kph on the highways :sly:

Im sure you can find some decent vids around...

I guess 3 of the 4 SLRs broke down due to alternator failure....
The Ultima broke too....I was hoping to see that in person on sunday...:yuck:

Didnt the SLRs have trouble last year? I seem to remember hearing about an SLR that had been running in first almost the entire race, and then blew the engine just before the finish line in Istanbul...

I saw that we lost another SRT-10 during the first leg of the race, pitty really. Alteast with that one, the damage was pretty much cosmetic...

Those guys dont pace themselves....always in a rush, and probably pushing these cars harder than the owners ever have. With most not being pro drivers, Ill bet the gearboxs take a real beating. I find it funny that a ~$400,000 car gets put down over an alternator. 3 out of 4 with the same problem...thats not right. We should have perfected an alternator by now...WTF?

You would think that they would carry some of the spare parts with them, esp. in East Asia where the parts arent going to be too common.

...Has the Corvette Z06 held up? I'm going to laugh if that "horrible American build quality" outlasts all the Germans, Italians, British, etc...

The sad thing is that none of the owners probably thought they'd loose their cars when they started this.

...I guess two Lambos were involved in the wreck pictured above, but one has managed to limp away. Pitty the car had to die in Thailand.
