G29, just totally random, today i did 30 odd laps with no problems, pitted changed tyre pressures, went out again and within two laps was skipping gears.. sometimes it wont change, had the same problem when i was setting the Z4 up for hockenheim, was fine in the race.... doing my head in...
 
Glad you have a backup wheel cheezz so you can still race with us.

I'm looking to upgrade my T150 (which I've had absolutely zero problems with) for either a T300 or G29. I'm having second thoughts now of "upgrading" because of all of the problems people seem to have with the higher priced wheels.

Best Buy has the G29 for $299 and the shifter for $39

I can get a T300 for $375 from B&H Photo which is a great site that has flash sales all the time. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/co...ap=y&m=Y&c3api=1876,92051677442,&A=details&Q= . I already have the T3PA pedals and TH8A shifter, which I really like.

I just don't want to spend almost $400 just to get pissed off, especially since my T150 with T3PA and TH8A have worked perfectly and cost me less than $300 in total. Any idea what the failure rate is for the T300 and G29?
 
Only problems i have had with the G29 is in project cars, every other game it works fine, which is proper frustrating, i looked at the T300 but as over here it is twice the price of the G29 and the logitech pedals are much better than those that come with the T300 and the rubber grips on the wheel .... would prefer a bigger wheel tbh, the leather on the G29 is ok, would rather Alcantara... i like the Fanatec stuff but way out of my league money wise...

also the problem i have had is also been had by people using ps4 and xbone controllers....

Rubber grips. LOL Buy an Alcantara wheel.
 
Adds even more money to the price... thing is i have heard good and bad things about Thrustmaster, Logitech and Fanatec, each has their fans and each their, well, not so fans shall we say....
Really comes down to the cost for me, though i have this lovely alcantara sparco kart wheel gathering dust..... modification might be inbound..
 
I don't run a wheel myself, but I've heard a relatively cheap option (if that's what you're looking for) that still gives good performance is to get a G27, and then get the emulator chip thing for it (supposedly can get them from Walmart for not much).
 
There's pros and cons to them all. I didn't think I could afford a Fanatic wheel, so I bought a thrustmaster. I could have bought a Fanatic wheel after it was all said and done. Logitech said that the G27 would work on the PlayStation 4. They went balls deep in me and got off with out my permission isn't that considered rape.
 
To join our HFRL DiRT League:

Go to www.dirtgame.com and sign up at the website. Select PS4 as your platform (you have to do that each time you go to the site because it defaults to Steam [PC] platform for some reason). From there search for HALF FAST RACING and join us. From then on when you play DiRT Rally you can automatically join the league events right from the DiRT game w/o having to go to the website again.

The chip does not work perfect, but for the money you are right. A G-27 with the chip would be the way to go.
 
Had the G27 and sold it for the G29, funny thing is with the home made rig that i sold with it i made enough to by the G29... over here there isnt much difference in the cost between a G27 and a G29, the G29 though doesn't come with a shifter but the pedals have been improved,
 
@trans; I THINK (not 100% sure) that with the T300 and T500 you can buy an adapter to use a real wheel like your Sparco kart steering wheel.

And @cheezz: You can't "rape" the willing! Lol
 
@trans: Keep at it. The next mixed-class series of GT3/LMP1 will use a lot of these same tracks, so any tuning set-ups you create now will help you in the next series. Both you and Fred were running well, until you got disco'd and somehow he got DQ'd (still not quite sure how?). Hazard had crappy luck at the start, but man, he put his visor down and hauled ass!
 
I had my first run with some "half-fast" folks yesterday in AC. Good clean racing I must say. Hope to hook up with you again soon. My time zone makes things a bit tough I am 12 hours ahead of EST and 7 hours ahead of UK time. Anyway, I 'll accept friend requests from any of you guys.
I'm running G29 with a G27 shifter and have experienced the same problems mentioned above. I had mine replaced recently because the throttle pedal was sticking on full throttle randomly...... pretty inconvenient mid corner :D
 
@nosoks: We had some good racing on AC yesterday with you and the other guys. Hit us up at HFRL as there's almost always someone online to race with.

I'm hoping AC gets the private lobbies soon, especially around the time they release the Porsche pack. The lack of lobbies is one of the main reasons we're not really running Assetto as part of our league. The game does have a lot of potential though, and I just hope they get it squared away soon. AC has dropped to $20 here in the US, so maybe a lot of people will pick it up for Christmas.
 
Would be interested to see peoples opinions on the cronusmax, i know there where similar things on the market before the G29 was launched none of which were reportedly any good, if this works it could save people having to replace a perfectly good wheel...

Check out the GIMX adapters, I got started on PCars with a G27 and a GIMX adapter which runs through a laptop and tells the PS4 you are on a G29. The program is free and the adapter costs about $30 - 40 to make.

Wow, that G29 from PC World is only about $190 US and at that price it's about $10 cheaper than a T150. If it drops that low here in the US it'd be a no-brainer to buy the G29! You could get two of those for the price of 1 T300.

Ran the new rally this morning, great fun! Looks like no one else has done it yet so I'm sitting nicely in 1st place!!
