We've had a ton of interest in joining the Half-Fast Racing League, and we welcome new racers to HFRL. We have fun, joke around with each other, and don't take racing too seriously, but seriously enough to want only clean racers.

If you are either one of the following types of racer, you won't enjoy racing with us.

1) If you have an online public lobby mentality where you think you can win the race in the first corner and will ram everyone out of the way to get to the front, please don't ask to "race" with us. Same thing if you have the public lobby mentality of rage quitting if you are not going to be on the podium.

2) If you believe your online racing record and reputation will help you be discovered as the next Michael Schumacher and get a real-world F1 contract, don't ask to race with us. We all make mistakes and accidently bump into each other every once in a while. It's never intentional, and we always apologize right away. So if that happens to you and you get butt-hurt and upset (for more than a lap), you won't like racing with us.

We get together to have fun, some good competition, and to make new friends. If that sounds like something you want to be part of, send friend invites via PSN to GUTTER-BOY and cheezz_KRACKER

Here are some videos of our league races. There are a bunch more on youtube. Hope to see you on the track soon!

@twitcher: here's how he can join the HALF-FAST DiRT RALLY LEAGUE:

Go to www.dirtgame.com and sign up at the website. Select PS4 as your platform (you have to do that each time you go to the site because it defaults to Steam [PC] platform for some reason). From there search for HALF FAST RACING and join us. From then on when you play DiRT Rally you can automatically join the league events right from the DiRT game w/o having to go to the website again.

Another one for Ya @GUTTERBOY3007

I just ran a sim of next week's race, with the weather. In the season schedule, you say weather progression is on x10, and should cycle about every 5 laps (for 2 full cycles in the race).

In the sim I ran, with x10 progression, the weather was changing about every 3 laps. With that progression, the weather will cycle just under 3 and a 1/2 times in the 40 lap race.

To me it doesn't really matter. I was more just curious if this is what you were going for. Also to clear things up for anyone basing a pit strategy off of weather changing every 5 laps as opposed to 3.

Playstation VR?

Dunno right now, waiting to see what games will support it, and if a PS4 PRO is required for the best performance with it. I might pick it up down the road if PCars 2 supports it on the Playstation.

I think the pro will be a must have.

I think the pro will be a must have.

I figured, which is fine with me, but then there needs to be the games to support it. I mean I dunno about everyone here, but I play a ton more games than just racing, so It will need a good library for me to jump over. I am very hopeful though that this will be a success. It is the first real new piece of gaming we have seen come out in a long time.

Pretty much when you think about it. I mean PC gaming has always been king and will continue to be so, just because you can constantly improve the hardware with the only limitation being your pocket book. Consoles haven't changed in really the last 2 decades. Now the only other real change to gaming we saw has already happened on PC and will happen to consoles, and that is the Steam business model. There most likely won't be a PS 5. I have a feeling the next "Playstation / Xbox" will be essentially Steam services that you download to your smart TV. Gaming will be entirely server based in the cloud that we pay to have downloaded to our account or a subscription fee for the service.

Good news about Assetto Corsa, and when private lobbies are finally available we might possibly be able to use it on occassion for some league races. The first Porsche pack DLC has been released and is a lot of fun (917, 935, 911 RSR are awesome), and Porsche pack part 2 will be released in a few weeks. Here's a press release from them:

PORSCHE PACK 2 CONSOLE LAUNCH
The Porsche Pack Vol 2 DLC for console will now launch early January, on the same day as the Red Pack DLC. We don’t have an exact date to share at this moment in time, but they're coming and we cannot wait for you guys to check them out. We are heading into submission this week and will give you an exact date of launch as and when we receive it. We know that this news will come as a disappointment to our community who were hoping to see the latest Porsche pack launch onto console this month, but be rest assured, we're doing everything we can to bring it to you guys as soon as possible!

The Porsche Pack Vol 2 is the second DLC pack dedicated to the Porsche. This pack includes some incredibly iconic racing cars, including the 2015 Le Mans winning 919 Hybrid, the incredible 911 GT1 and the legendary 962C. Check out the full list below…

THE RED PACK CONSOLE LAUNCH
The Red Pack DLC package includes seven iconic and legendary Italian sports cars, including the Ferrari SF15-T, the first Ferrari GP car to debut for Assetto Corsa. The 2015 red single seater, named 'Eva' by X4 world champion Sebastian Vettel, has been reproduced in cooperation with Ferrari, to ensure the highest level of detail and accuracy possible!

The Red Pack DLC also contains the Red Bull Ring circuit, reproduced for Assetto Corsa through the use of laserscan technology. Located in Spielberg, Austria, this track is now home to multiple racing series and is renowned for being short but incredibly fast!

THE CARS...
  • Ferrari SF-15T
  • Ferrari F138
  • Ferrari 488 GT3
  • Maserati 250F 6C
  • Maserati 250F T2 12C

PRIVATE LOBBIES ON CONSOLE
Don't worry... They're coming! ;) Private lobbies are a big job, but the team are working incredibly hard to bring them to Assetto Corsa. While we don't have a release date yet, you can expect them in the new year as part of a major update. More info soon!

THANK YOU!
Once again, we want to thank our community for their incredible support. It's been a crazy ride but we're going to continue pushing flat out to make Assetto Corsa the ultimate racing sim on console. While it's practically impossible for us to reply to every comment and message across our community channels, please know that we're unbelievably grateful to all those who have stuck with us and continue to interact with us! We absolutely love hearing your thoughts, suggestions and constructive criticism, so please continue to engage with us! :) We've said it many times before, but it means the world to have such an enthusiastic community on board!

Here's some links to the youtube channel I was talking about after Sunday's race.

Here is the GTP thread, which features the series on how to get faster through each part of a corner
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...o-series-aimed-to-polish-your-driving.343918/
Edit: on page two of this thread, there's a 4 part series on racecraft as well. Also a very useful video called "Chasing Balance".

And here is a link to the full YouTube channel

I also linked the YouTube page in the Sunday group chat.

For the Sunday Series racers:

We're already at the the halfway point of the LMP1 series. Please start thinking of what type of car you want to run for the next mixed class LMP1/GT3 series starting in February. Hazard has aready confirmed that he wants to run an LMP1 car, and I want to run a GT3. We need 8 racers in each class to evenly split the two classes up. I'd like to allow you to select the class you prefer, but we might need to make adjustments if one class is over or under represented. I suggest the faster and better drivers take the LMP1 cars, because with the speed difference the faster car is going to be responsible for safely getting around the GT3 cars.

Thanks for the great racing we've had all year long. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Ok, so far it's me, gotdirt, Trans, and Ekay in GT3s, and Hazard in an LMP1 for the next series. The couple of test mixed class races were incredible, so I can't wait for the full series.
