If you really like Half Life 2 and you have a PC that can run Episode 1 at the highest settings, then yes its well worth it for only $20.00.

Digging up an old thread because I just downloaded the demo for free. It's still there and it was fun. I had problems with it, though. The game made me a little sick, but not too bad. Just stop playing for 10 minutes and I'm ready to go. But what I don't like about it, IT'S HARD!

Holy crap, even on EASY level I had a hard time. The problem is there's no ammo! In the demo I can't find ammo anyplace. I'm doing something wrong, I think. Thank god for the cheat console.

I was able to give myself the shotgun, increase the ammo count, increase the pellet count, and this solved any problems with fighting the enemy. Problem for me is choosing a weapon. I have to click on the keyboard and I'm busy using my DS3 controller. A bit of a pain, but I'll figure it out. I still haven't figured out how to set up the controller config yet, but I'm working on it.

So, should I get the full game? Any tips, tricks, cheats, hidden items or secrets that I should know about?

I figured out the ammo problem, but there's still not enough for my trigger finger. lol

Yeah, even at $20 it's a great price. But, I'm still waiting for Steam to put it back on at a 'special' price. Last time, they had it for $12 and I hope they do that again real soon. For the time, I'm playing other demos to see what else I want.

Bulletstorm was OK, but too boring. It's just too much of a 'enter area, shoot bad guys' kind of game, which to me is just too boring. Plus, the fun of the game is in the way you kill the enemy. I never enjoy that kind of game play. I usually just kill the enemy the fastest way possible to clear an area and get tasks done as soon as possible. But, this game has no tasks. Just shoot, kill and move on to the next. Boring.

I love Half-Life 2 and the series in general. Honestly though, i hope they release Half-Life 3 with a new engine instead of EP3 since it's taking way too long for EP3 to come out.
