Ive seen that in the box - so tell me the principles behind online play, what do I have to pay for exactly ? Ive got my broadband, PC, XBOX, and television so what else do I have to spend money on ???

In the Halo 2 menu, go to Xbox live and hit "creat new account." You go through and give them your Credit Card number and enter the pascode on the free 2 months card. They need your CCN b/c after the 2 free months, you are automatically charged the $49.99 per year or $5.99 for a 1 month subscription. That's about it. Now you can play live. What you really need is a headset and communicator to fully enjoy online play. Otherwise, you won't be able to communicate with anyone in matches. You don't NEED it, but it will help you and your teammates.

EDIT: You also need an ethernet cable to hook up your XBox to the internet, obviously... :dunce:

In the online play, you can do quickmatch, where it randomly puts you in a battle, or you can do optimatch, where you and up to 7 friends (or none) stick together and go into random matches. You can choose to do free-for-alls, objective based games (CTF, King of the Hill, etc) and you stay with your friends and it finds you opponents at about equal skill level.

You can also do custom battles where you can invite people or not and just play with your friends which is exaclty like System Link.

This minimal fee is worth it. I play every night for 2 or 3 hours with my buds from 9pm to 12am consistently. VERY worth it!

No, i mean the fact that controls are pretty much the same and the camera is still amazingly slow. The only upgrades i see are a little more advanced graphics, new content, and better vehicle destruction.

that's because those things you think should be "upgraded" are actually purposely balanced that way.

You want it to play like unreal tournament or something? If you want twitch action shooters just stay on the PC. It's meant to control that way because it was tailored for consoles, instead of the usual PC ports.

Here's my review:

The single player isn't as solid as the first. I mean contextually and the fact that the big battles with the A.I. are replaced with more linear, scripted sequences to make up for it. The controls are tighter, but the first person animations (reloading, pulling out a gun, melee attack) are sometimes worse than the ones in the first. It takes a while to get used to the new feel, but it plays alot better than the first. The story is great but the ending will seriously kick you in the nuts and make you want to hate this game. Overall, it's like Halo taken up a few notches.

Multiplayer IS bliss. end of discussion. the party system takes a while to get used to, but it makes the experience a lot better. See you on live.

i am very interested in the xbox live especialy for halo2, but was just wondering is there a place on the net that tells you a list of all the game tags that have been used??

What I'm wondering is if you can have two or more people play online from the same console. Anyone want to try it for me?

You can. With up to 3 other people!

My Review-

Me and my buddy finished the game doing co-op on Heroic last Thursday. And, well, it was like we hit a brick wall... The campaign seemed short.

But Neither of us could understand why anyone would not like the storyline. It's very in depth with twists and turns. The plot has WAY more depth than Halo. We both really enjoyed playing the game. The new environments were awesome. Especially the earth level. Talk about your urban combat!! All the new weapons really added to the game play and tactics. The new vehicles are pretty cool too. Was disapointed in not having a rocket launcher armed Puma though. The vehicle damage is cool too. Forces you to use them more wisely. I give the gameplay an A-, the only bad thing was that It was just too short. But, Now we can just play multiplayer online for the next two years while they cook up Halo3 ;)

Haven't played multiplayer yet. Don't have Live, but we'll get it now that we beat it already. I'm sure we'll go back and try legendary again, but damn was it hard!

heheh.

"Halo2 is a freakin' masterpiece, and anybody that tells you differently has bad taste, it's just that plain and simple. I've played countless hours of multiplayer, conquered the single-player campaign, and still all I want to do is play more. How much more could you ask for? If you play this game and find yourself disappointed I can't understand what you might have been expecting in the first place. Maybe you wanted the sky to open up and saturate you with angelic light while fireworks shot out of your Xbox, or maybe you wanted Jesus to sit down next to you for a quick game of co-op; either way, you're freaking nuts if you don't like this game. It's improved in every way from the original title, and if that isn't good enough for you, you're spoiled and I don't like you."

Anyone gotten a Killtrocity yet? How about a Rampage? I just got a rampage :sly: If only I had gotten a Berserker...

I've only gotten a few triple kills so far.

my best spree is like 14, but I play in matched games so you can't really dominate like in custom games against weaker oponents.

I had a triple kill last night playing capture the flag. Damn, SO SATISFYING! I had like 11 medals, and 14 kills (second best, led my team). I know it's not great, but I've only been playing a couple days. (like 4 hours online) I'm at a level 3 right now. I saw event was at like level 9. Jesus.

I was at level 4 after about an hour and a half online. That was when I played in the ranked section. Now I just play in the rooms I make or the rooms that I am invited to. They are usually so fun I stay in there the whole time. Almost always 16 people. 👍
My record is 21 medals in one round. Only happens once in a while. Ive had multiple tripple kills and a few killing sprees. Havent played in about 3 or 4 days. I will be on this weekend for sure and mabey tonight.

Ive completed the game but only on the normal difficulty level. When you play heroic/legendary is there a different script for marines/aliens etc ? ... I remember HALO on legendary where the AI used to come up with new stuff to say, is this the case with Legendary ?

it's pretty random. I've heard a new thing everytime I play. They seem to never run out of things to say.
