Well, the title says it in the most Strong Badian way possible.... Happy CommercialCardChocolatetines Day! I hope there is a Snow Day for St. Vals! :D

*Waits for daan to show me an incredibly recent thread that I missed somehow, and call me a n00b.*

I would wish y'all a happy valentines day, but that seems kind of gay saying that to a mostly male community.

There's ice all over the place here but no snow, although it ain't valentine's day yet.

I'm handing out hershey's Kisses and Hugs to all the ladies. Hopefully I'll get some mad love.

And herein lies the commercialised cause of Valentine's day getting so out of hand. :ouch:

Traditionally Valentine's Day is for you to express your love for your special someone, i.e. your Valentine. (so called after St. Valentine, the Patron Saint of Love.) ;)

It seems nowadays that many people interpret Valentine's Day as Valentines Day, and while the difference is subtle, the effect is far reaching....

In the traditional case I mentioned above, one recipient is the lucky focus of your undying love.....

By missing the apostrophe from the holiday, it now implies that you should have many Valentines! Hence the situation we now see, where classrooms of children all give each other a Valentine's card, people give their parent Valentine's cards, etc., etc.

Ok, in the PC-gone-mad world we live in today this ensures nobody gets left out, right? Inclusion and all that junk. :sly: And I'm not saying it's not a good idea to have undying love for your parents, but remember there's another "Hallmark" holiday for each of them too!

I read on MSN yesterday, that the average American male now spends $120 on Valentine's Day gifts and cards. But what amazed me most was how it breaks down, there wasn't one big slice of pie for 100% spent on wife/GF/partner/significant other etc, etc. but several slices! Parents, friends, pets (? ), children, siblings, colleagues and "others" each steal away parts of that spending, leaving "wife/GF/partner/significant other etc, etc." with only 60% of the proceeds!

Don't know about you, but if my Missus finds out I've been blowing cash on Valentine's Day gifts for "others" she'll be a little put out! :p

Oh well, that's my 2cents, my wife'll have a good day tomorrow!
And she'll be my one & only Valentine! :)

It's just chocolate and it only cost me 4 bucks to make 100 lucky ladies have a little something to potentially brighten their day. I love everyone.

A cunning plan. The scattergun approach!
You'll either get 100 kisses in return, or more likely 100 jealous women wondering why you're sleeping with all their friends! :scared:
I don't know why, but that's the way the female mind works!
It is said that if man ever truly uncovers the complexities of the female brain, that the Universe as we know it will blink out of existence and be replaced by something even more complicated!!! :D :p

However, if you want to be the "lucky" one, try picking 1 lady and giving her 100 kisses! :sly:

I had anticipated surprising a girlfriend of mine with something special tomorrow, but she ended up skipping south of here for a "College Visit," and thus I'm going to be at home, alone, tomorrow. I should call one of my other girlfriends, but knowing her, she already has a "date," and even then, I'm not sure if I want to lead her on too far that I'm "interested" despite the fact we haven't seen each other in a while (long story).

...Oh well. Phone calls are in order to the ladies in my life...

Join the club. My cousin's girlfriend is spending the nigth at his house tonight because her Mustang doesn't feel like driving through 6 inches of snow and ice all the way home. Man, if only I had a Mustang-owning girlfriend, and since school is closed tomorrow...

Hopefully my DFP comes in the mail tomorrow. I'll make love to Live For Speed.

Aaaaand that pretty much sums up the story of your life right there. :p j/k

What are my plans for tomorrow?

1. Wake up.
2. Work until 4pm
3. Get home and rest for a while, it can either be done by playing PS3 for a while or finish reading my book.
4. Take a shower.
5. Call my girlfriend to see if she's ready (which is never the case until 30 minutes after the scheduled time.)
6. Call my best friend to see if he and his gf are ready.
7. Pick everybody up, and head to Le Pactole restaurant, a fine place with a romantic/cozy environment that very well suits our pockets and eating needs. (we decided to go French this year :D)
8. Drop my buddies off.
9. Take my gf to the Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park where we get to see a beautiful sight of what Manhattan is made out of, and then spend some quality time there. It's really awesome there at night 👍
10....and then....take the loong way home :D

But again, these are plans that often get changed or we end up doing something completely different.

Ah well. Happy Valetine's folks!

My plans for tomorrow (later today, actually):

1. Sleep until noon or 1 PM
2. Wake up, eat a bowl of cereal
3. Sleep in until 3 or so.
4. Wake up, get dressed, shovel snow.
5. Probably visit Katelyn in the hospital
6. Go to bed.

Snow days for school are usually sleep days for me. Valentine's Day is no different .

Join the club.

Come on Keef babe. I'd be there with you if I could. Here's a song to cheer up your V-Day.

Keef, its been a long time that weve been apart
Much too long for Brad who needs love
I miss you since Ive been away
Keef, it wasnt easy to leave you alone
Its getting harder each time that I go
If I had the choice, I would stay

Theres no one like you
I cant wait for the nights with you
I imagine the things we do
I just wanna be loved by you

No one like you
I cant wait for the nights with you
I imagine the things we do
I just wanna be loved by you

So when's Valentine's Day again? I have no idea what I'll be doing for it, most likely studying algebraic equations.

Dear mother of god:D

I don't really do Valentines day but I usually buy my girlfriend some flowers just so she doesn't feel left out.

I hate you and your Ohio snow. My district only has an hour delay. :grumpy:

Cheap ass schools....

One of my flatmates got a card under our flat door this morning, so I took it upstairs and was going to leave it by her room door. Then my other flatmate came out, and knocked for her so that she came out of her room while I was holding it and now thinks that I've sent the bloody card!

I've had nothing though, I wasn't expecting anything. I've just had to deal with loads of girls constantly asking me what they should get their boyfriends when they damn well know I'm fed up with being single. :grumpy:

Have any other single friends? When I was single on Valentine's Day I always went out with them. Either that or counted the cash in my wallet and smiled.

As for me, the wife and I are doing our thing on Saturday. We are going to The Melting Pot, a fondue restaraunt and then she just wants to see a movie. Depending on which movie will determine how much I drink at dinner. She really wants to see Because I Said So (hidden message there?) and so I imagine numerous beers will be had.

I did order flowers to be delivered to her at work today.

i'm gonna go and see my GF and her baby this afternoon cause i dont get out of class untill almost 4:00 pm

I have no plans except going to see a girl I'm interested in at her volleyball game tonight. No romance for me.

I'm just glad I don't work at Chrsyler, as it is being called by the press as the Valentine's Day Massacre.

I'm waiting until Friday to celebrate with my girlfriend. We had a nasty ice storm here in Pittsburgh last night and the interstate is still closed. Plus, my car is awful in bad weather, so I'm stuck at home until the evening at least, and that's when she has to work.

We'll probably just go get something to eat and then go out for a few drinks on Friday. I hate making a big deal out of Valentine's day. I got her some chocolate and other kinds of candy too, since she's not too big on flowers.

For all us singletons, tonight is a particularly good night to go to the pub or out on the town, since there is no other night where the probability of meeting a single girl is higher... :dopey:

...or I could just go home and watch the repeat of Top Gear at 7pm... :indiff:

Watch Top Gear then go out, the ladies will have a few babychams down them by then. ;)

Dayum, Match Of The Day live at 8pm on BBC1 :ouch:

Who said romance was dead? (apart from Clarkson, May, Hammond and Lineker?)

You'd prefere to stay in and watch Bolton vs Arsenal than go out and meet desperate, drunk ladies?

Go to the pub and watch Arsenal lose 2-1, then wait for the ladies to turn up. Your killing two birds with one stone.
