Smart move :P

That's pretty much what I did with the MR2 in the GT300. Halfway through Laguna I could see it was going nowhere and just shut it off.

Man it was wierd loosing so bad and not being able to do anything abou it. In the straight on Grand Valley East a couple times I was in 3rd, and then I could hear them... and then I could see them... and then it was all tail lights for me

The Momo's good for winning those Grand Touring Cup races, though. (But precious little else.)

Ever ran an underpowered car in the SuperTouring races? Those Civics and the Infinitis/Primeras will always try to knock you into the weeds!

Yea sometimes I get bored and enter races with cars 100hp under powered to see if I can get them to win consistantly. Your set becomes so apparent and relievant then. While you may not have the straight line grunt to pass them or even catch them you make it up in the cornering and handling areas, not to mention the odd time or two of using the other cars to get you around the corners hahahaha

Ok I just used the R30 Skyline Race car in the GT300 championship. The maximum hp allowed was 591hp and the R30 is 555 hp.
The first race was Grand Valley East. I won by just over 9 sec.
Second Race Leguna Seca won by 23.XX sec (best lap a 1:09.xx :P )
Third race Deep forest won by 29.xx sec (best lap a 1:03.656:) )
Fourth race Midfield won by 30.199 sec (best lap a 1:01.375 )
Fifth race Apricot Hill won by 33.xx sec (best lap a 1:09.068 :) )

I think the Apex Kraft Trueno is the most fun for the GT300.

The RS200 Altezza race-prepped is a lot of fun too, the White w/Red and Red w/White have good replays.

The '97 NSX race-prepped is an ok car to run too. I think I run with 410hp with a sports or semi-racing exhaust.

Race prepped 3-series Beemer's are fun too, as is the MB SLK.

I had a play with one of two S2000 GT1's I have and actually I think it would give the Altezza a real run for the money. I really can't see much difference in lap times. Very well balanced car, turns extremely well, and accelerates quite the same. Like the Altezza though it does not like the rough tracks too well though, and also lacks that grunt needed for the top end.

I used an RX-7 LM edition the first time around the GT300 championship; it's not a fair fight. If you can't win with the cusco Impreza or the Amemiya RX7, you're wasting your time. Even a Lexus IS300 or the RX7 Inifni III '90 should net you the GT300 title...try something different!

Hey the InfinityIII in GT300 is a fun race man. First time placing a post in here. Anyways if anyone thinks any of the races are hard you must not have played this game much. If I can run in the 591hp at Midfield with the 240BZ and be able to cruz at low rpm's on third lap still winning just show's how easy they made GT2.

The Subaru's are fun in the GT300.
- Impreza from the Grand Valley Enduro
- Impreza Rally car that you buy
- Race Prepped 22b (turn it to around 400hp)

Ford has some good cars with the Focus and Cosworth Escort (the Escort looks better).

The Lancer Rally cars.
- '98 you buy off the lot
- '99 you win in the S.S. Route 5 enduro (this one has Yaw Control...lots of fun)
- Mines Lancer (stock car with ~500hp)

The Toyota Corrolla Rally cars. The '97 from the Rome enduro, and the '98 off the lot...both are fun to drive, but the '97 looks better. :D

As far as FWD goes...

- Ford Mondeo race tuned
- Opel Vectra and Astra
- '98 Honda Accord
- Nissan Primara's.
- Peugeot 406 sedan

The Generators are great for testing your set up and driving skills if you use a car you purchase and then do up. Usually it pushes you to be on your best as they other cars don't give you much slack.

The Ford Escort Rally car is a great way to test skill in the GT300. It took a lot of skill and patience to run the 2700lb Escort against the Bomex RX-7.

GT300

Had to be the most challenging series in GT2

1st time
Fully tuned Alpha Romeo 156 2.5 V6 with around 450bhp and [R] mod
very close racing but the Bomex RX-7 and the Cusco Impreza seemed to have straight line speed advantage.

2nd Time
Fully tuned BMW 328ci with around 450 bhp and [R] mod
Not so hard to win but blink and it would be second place for me

3rd time
Fully Tuned TVR Griffith 500 with around 550bhp and [R] mod
Easy everyone got killed off on the first corner.

4th time
Full tune Camaro ss with god knows how much power and [R] mod

Even easyer than the griffith.

Yep he does!
He also has "relations" with the thin air!

Ive gotta play GT2 after ive finished TOCA racedriver. I never truly 100% the game. Mind you I have an early japanese version so I think it may have the 98% bug thing in it. I wonder if my dodgy US copy hasnt got that in it.

The single race that I had the most trouble with is the 295HP race at Rome where the AI pulls out that damn GT-40!
I've found thru MUCH trial and error, that the Blue Mazda RX-7 that you win in the RWD event comes in at 293 HP. With a gearing tweek, and good tires, this race becomes a little easier.
