Hardest License Test?

I just completed getting 80 golds on the GT4 license tests.

I was wondering what you thought the hartest license test was.

For me, it has to be IA-16 (Nissan R92CP Race Car at the Sarthe Circuit). Getting over 950 bhp under control without traction control was a pain in the as.s! :banghead:

On the flip side, S-15 (1 lap Time Trial: Circuit de la Sarthe) and S-16 (1 lap Time Trail: Nurburgring North Course) were surprisingly easy.

Personally, I found the Chaminoix(?) rally with the Peugeut 206 in the S license difficult. Mainly because the failure requirements seemed to be random! One time, you could slam into the side and get away with it then, 100yrds down the track, you could just brush a blade of grass and get a fail!

Absolutey. I doubt I'll reach 100%, because I hated the ice license tests, so a whole race on ice has to REALLY suck.

that liscense test wasn't too hard for me.

i have yet to pass the one with the mercedes vs. nurburgring [i think iA license?]

I don't see how anyone can spend that amount of time to get all golds in those tests. :yuck:
I just assume to get the bronze and move on with it.
Not to hijack the thread but wow, 80 golds. 👍 👍
Kudos to you and others for having that much patience.
I'd have the Ps2 out the window if I'd try that much gold.

I agree with you on this one. I have 79 Golds :dopey: with this one to go :ill: . I have not touched it in about a month :scared:

It actually isnt that hard. I spent two sick days (no really, i was sick) and got a good 70 golds.

Hardest one would probably be the ice rallys... but cheating for gold makes them very easy (I'm ashamed, but damn I wanted that Ford Model T). Suzuka was pretty annoying to get down in S. IB slaloms were also annoying. El Capitan was pretty hard too. It's hard to say which one was the toughest though, because these tests all need practice, and once you got the practice part down, its just a matter of a little extra luck before you get a gold.

off the top of myhead it would have to be... got it!

i forget which licence its in, but its that one with the skyline that starts on the hill at trial mountain. DAMN! i hate that test! i hated it on gt1, and i hate it more now. ive spent many an hour trying to crack this simple looking, but deceptively hard nut. believe me, its a right pig of a test.
gran turismo has a proud history of continuity, using tracks and cars from previous games. oh how i wish they had forgotten that when it came to the licence tests. this ugly mother keeps coming back from the past, like a ghost to haunt me! I HATE IT!

The two most difficult license tests for me were S-16 (One lap on Nurbugring) and the one on Chamonix with the Peugot 206. I hate ice rallies. :irked:

I agree that IA16 was the hardest. It was the only one that I used Manual gears on. In GT3 I had to use manual on quite a few tests to get Gold. Next hardest was probably S12 for me. Most infuriating was IA15 with that useless Pace Car getting in the way.

Hardest test to gold? The one you are currently trying to do.
I have S1, the Ford GT at Seattle, Tokyo in the Honda, Suzuka car ?, El capitan in the Viper, S15 and S16 still to gold.

The on with the Saleen S7 was hard. I had to run a couple of walls to gold that one.

Hardest for me so far (only have 24) was B16 (BMW 120 at Tsukuba) - took me at least 50 attempts last night.

I am just tring to get one gold each time I have a racing session. I don't know how I am going to cope with the cone slaloms - they remind me of the GT3 tests with the RUF at Complex String - just can't work those damned things out.

The hardest license tests for me were the S-license rally tests. I never got down rally driving (or brushing along the walls). The S7 at SSR5 and Civic at Motegi were annoying at first, so was IA-15, or whatever the test is with the TVR doing the last turn at Motegi.

There were a few others I didn't like, but they weren't too tough.

I hate the cone slaloms.

I also hated Chamonix when I was bronzing the tests and the Nissan at Le Sarthe.

In the end when I tried to silver Chamonix I accidentally golded it LOL.

I managed the Nissan at Le Sarthe yesterday.

I the sharp corners in 3rd gear, floored it and just as it wanted to spin I half lifted off the x button. This needs to be just right to nail it and I managed to do it on all the corners in the one lap. Nailed it by 0.7. You have to time the lift right and get it back to about 50% throttle and it needs to be very soon after the wheels start to spin ie probably within half a second.

S14 by far. that test annoyed the hell outta me

IA15 was great, the first time in a group C car and on Lé Sarth, got it after a while

Everyone talking about the ice rallies. I must be some sort of freak. I only have 23 golds, although I just started to go back to get them a couple days ago, but the two ice rallies were incredibly easy for me. I golded Ice Arena on my first try, and I silvered Chamonix on my second try and first full lap. So far, of the tests I have golded, the Mini around Tsukuba took me probably a hundred tries to gold. This was the first time I had to switch to manual, although that was easy since I only had to shift four times in the whole lap. I just needed to make sure it stayed in second around the second and third hairpins and to keep it in third for the last turn.

Oh, and I got gold by only .001 on three of the four stopping and starting tests. Crazy s***, huh?

Chamonix took me ages to bronze and I really thought that I'd never understand it well enough to finish a lap, but I went out really slowly one time just for a recce and got the bronze by accident.

Golded S1. I found if you get the back end sliding you can brake later and carry more corner speed.Took about 1 hour to get gold.

Golded Seattle. Took about an hour. Just keep at it. I made up a lot of time at the pit entry chicane on my gold pass.

Golded S8 (Tokyo). That took about 90 minutes. Just got to learn how hard you can push at the back half of the track. The car in this tests snaps into oversteer very easily.

Golded S9. Took about 75 minutes. I found I could wall ride around the first left hand bend to save a second.
Line up the right hand wheels on the stones on the corner edge. Your car will stay on the stones all the way around. It will look like yuo will hit the barrier but you just clear it. If you try to come into the wall from a little bit outside the barrier you will fail with the contact. The fence drops away in sections about half way around, do not worry about contact as the wheels seem to be magically held to the stones.

3 left.
Suzaka which I think is 12, 15 & 16.

If you want to beat the gold time on S15 by more than 12 secs checkout the video here.

I can guarantee you I will be lucky to beat it by 0.12 secs.

After I got 100%, I decided to go back and finish up the license tests. Relatively speaking, it didn't take that long (about 4 hours) since I had alot of practice on the circuits. I originally had 26 golds during my first run at getting the licenses.

I'm MORE impressed with the guys that got 80 golds right outta the box. I know there are one or two guys in here that did it but I can't recall their screen-names. BIG PROPS TO THOSE GUYS! 👍

1. S-license of the Dodge Viper at El Capitan
2. Skyline at Trial Mountain test (same as a test in GT3 )
3. Graduation test for the A license (RX-7 @ Nurburgring)

slightly off-topic, but my nomination for the hardest EVER license test has to be test #13 in GT4 Prologue... :yuck: (2 laps of New York in the Takata NSX)

also, longest single session to get a gold - Dodge Viper @ Laguna Seca in GT3 - took 4 hours (and that was after 3 other attempts of about 1 hour each...) :ouch:

I hate that one too. I spent days getting gold on that one. Up to that test I was getting gold within 5 attempts. I could get to within 1/10 of a second with ease but that last .1 was impossible. So many times I missed by .001 or .004. Glad I never have to do it again.

IA-16 was easy, but then I spent a week prior to that getting a solid gold in S-15 as part of the WRS (beat gold by over 8 seconds).

For me ... and don't laugh ... I can't see how gold is possible in the damned BRAKING tests ... I spend so much time either spinning the wheels or trying to balance the damned accelerator, that I am always way off the gold time :P

For me it has to be any one of the dirt rally test.

I just can't stand them.
To make things worse, I know I can gold just about any of the normal license test, but with twice as much time on a rally I would still never come close to gold.

Not sure exactly what it is about rally but something always keeps me from doing what I want to on the track.

I noticed that other people are having a hard time getting used to the rally races and that cementes my suspicions... Rallying is the hardest part of this game.  :sly:
