Has Anyone Got a Sony NW-HD3

So, does anybody? I might be buying a red one when i go over to the US, as they are much cheaper.

What are they like? Is the Atrac-3 Format good?? Does it break easily? has it got an easy interface??

They are so damn over priced I think an iPoo is even better. Sony better be glad they aren't in business just for Mp3s because they would never have gotten anywhere. Why the continue to put crap like this out that the believe is innovate is beyond me.

The ATRAC-3 format sucks.

Get a player that has MP3 and OGG support.

attrac 3 = sucks

My friend has a sony mindisk that cost him just over £150 in december, and we're constantly criticising him for why he didn't spend £20 less and buy an ipod mini. He uses the attrac 3 format, and all his music sounds horrific on it. JUst get either an iriver, or ipod. I have good experience of ipods, but i've never used an iriver, so i don't know about those.

Ok, so it looks like atrac-3 sucks,

so, can anyone recommend an mp3/wma/ogg player for $300 or less??

And, no, not an iPod, to common they are. It has to hold 10,000 songs+, as i have a large music collection

Any recommendations??

how about an ipo- oh, no ipods.

Iriver? I don't know about them much, but they look good enough.

But, i do have experience with Creative mp3 players. I had a muvo tx, and loved it, and the zens look good too. There's loads to choose from aswell, but my favorites are the zen micro, and the zen touch, which has a touch sensitive strip much like like the ipod, but it's in a straight line instead of the ipod's circle.

ATRAC3 is better than MP3, by leaps and bounds. ATRAC3 is equal to AAC. But, if you guys wanna jump on the bash ATRAC3 bandwagon, go right ahead. It's your loss.

If you didn't like the sound quality of ATRAC3, perhaps it was encoded. Transcoding songs with ATRAC3 will severly degrade the sound quality because Sony currently doesn't offer a lossless encoding mode for it's players. So, if you encode ATRAC3s, be prepared for lousy sound quality.

But, at least you're able to rip a disc of continuous music without introducing short gaps between the constituent tracks during playback and while retaing quick cueing access to the individual tracks. It's a handy feature that iPods just don't have.

Damn well get the SONY! it is way better than an iPod..... I bought an iPod and regretted it......the sony ones battery life it great.....the UI is basically a copy of iPod but without a scroll wheel. It has independent volume controls (the iPod is annoying, u have to go to the now playing screen to change the volume when looking for other songs!).........

Most of my stuff is Sony and they do make really good stuff......

The only problem with their MP3 players is......

Atrac 3 Sucks!
Sonic Stage Sucks! (you dont really need it.....just use WMP or drag and drop!)
