Has anyone (like me) not bought a single standard car?

Hi,

Has anyone else not bought a single standard car during their campaign so far?

Of course I've won a ton of standards, but I never drive them (except on rare events where I just want to get it over and done with) and never ever buy them.

Premiums all the way!
 
I've bought plenty of standard models. I get a little nostalgic when I see cars like "Skyline GTR M.N.P" and just have to buy them.
 
bumper cam, I love my standard cars. Would love to see them all made into premium but I love my standard cars. Mazda Furai, Minolta Toyota, Toyota 7, FGT, Chaterham 7 Fireblade. I could not be level 23 on both a-spec and b-spec already without these amazing cars.
 
Yeap man, I am like you with only small difference I baught a few, but I hate to spend money on standard cars, just feeling very hard about it!!!
 
Not unless I have needed one for a specific event. Okay sure I bought the odd "Oh Cool THAT car" but yeah I don't spend any money on Standards unless necessary. Prolly haven't bought more than 5 if that. We get enough as rewards...

I've probably have spent 2-3 times as much money on my standard cars, but that might just be because I have 2-3 as many and I use them just as often as my premiums.
 
I was going down than route of not buying standards until i came across the spoon civic and some of my other favorite cars. You cant help but buy them
 
I haven't bought too many unless I needed one for a race. I have bought just about all the American muscle cars - kind of addicted to them I guess. Almost everything I buy is premium though. Don't really care to spend my hard earned credits on a GT4 car.
 
Well you can certainly minimize the use of standards but you can't get away from it. That means not using cars like the Toyotal Minolta, Toyota 7, or Furai, just to name a few.

Then there's the FGT, which is technically a used car as well.
 
I vastly perfer cockpit view, for that alone i try to stay in premium cars. I bought a handful of standard cars that i had to buy for various races. And i love my minotla, and heck the lupo was fun around nurburg, but whenever i pick a car to drive just for fun it is a premium car with a interior to "sit" in.
 
I buy standards, though I admit, I avoid the ones that were carried from GT3, and im so sad about the CLK-DTM (the one from my profile pic) , its a standard..but my word, it looks worse than many other standards. My guess, it was carried over from GT3.. .

I think I had to buy a Lupo, but that's it. I try and stay away from the standards. They only remind me of how unfinished GT5 is.

Excuse me but it is impossible to have 1000 premiums cars. What other game does have 200 premium cars? Forza maybe, and that's it.

You're missing out on some of the best cars in the game.
A la M3 GTR and CSL.
 
I have a lot of Standard Car's, because of the Rewards, i don't like SC. I love Premium Cars, because i only race if the Cockpit View, in other cams i cant race good, i dont know why but it is true. I buyed a Alfa Romeo Speciale 63 for nothing it sucks... Buick Special 62 is my best Standar Car so far, i love it, so fast and so enjoyble. I hope they make Premium Upgrades to:

-Buggati Veyron
-Toyota Minolta
-Opera Performance 350Z
-And other GT Cars
 
It means no difference to me. When I see Ford RS200 I don't care if it has 2000000000 polygons more. This constant fight between standard and premium is crazy.

Ruf Yellowbird
Falken GTR


It is just crazy talk to me that folks will willingly skip out on some of the best drives in the game simply because there is no cockpit...
 
I've bought a few standards, mostly the better ones - the NOMAD Lambo is great. But I've bought loads of premium ones, it's easier to get the nice new shiny ones than waiting for a good car hidden in (what feels like) thousands of skylines...

Not even Forza. Forza's cars don't even get near the level of detail of GT5's premiums. They're actually nearer to the better standards with a cockpit on top.

I use plenty of standard cars, considering that most of them actually look very nice. The true bad ones are few and far between.
 
I haven't.. simply because i'm so used to cockpit view throughout the last couple of years, that i just can't (and won't) drive any other way.
 
I haven't bought a lot of them, but I need some to complete my collections, such as the Corvette collection and American muscle car collection. I do use some of the standards I've won fairly frequntly. Some of them are excellent cars.
