Has anyone (like me) not bought a single standard car?

Excuse me but it is impossible to have 1000 premiums cars. What other game does have 200 premium cars? Forza maybe, and that's it.

Forza Graphics are too cartoony, i hope Forza 4 tries to improve but i doubt it, the DVD is not too good, ps3 + bluray storage capacity is better.

I've treated them all the same. If there's a car I like I don't care if it's standard or premium. I only use the bumper cam view, because I think the GT5 cockpit view is poor and feels remote, so to me it makes no difference.

The graphics are not an issue because, if you're being picky, every single car in GT is ruined by shadows long before you notice a texture is low res or a wheel arch is not very round.

I sell most of my standard cars that I win. However, I've bought the Sprinter Trueno SS Version and the Caterham 7 Fireblade and they're a lot of fun.

The storage medium really has nothing to do with the lighting, Forza has just always had muted reflections and cartoony lighting. Blu-Ray would solve the issue of 500 detailed cars needing 2 discs, but then GT5 doesn't utilize Blu-Ray fully anyways in this specific category of graphics.

As for the original question, most of my cars in GT5 are standard. It doesn't really bother me too much as I tend to use bumper cam all the time in any GT game; though nothing can prevent you from seeing other standard cars on the track.

I think what bothers me more about standard cars isn't the lack of cockpit or even the shoddy detail on some cars, it's just the lack of customization. If GT5 in general feels less personal with premium cars, then standard cars feel like rental cars. Also it's disappointing when you find a car in GT5 that you owned in real life and it's a lazily done standard model.

Speaking of which, I wish GT5 had a rental system, there's no reason to spend lots of money on a standard car just for 1 race, and not everybody has access to shared cars over the internet.

I like the standards. I probably have more of them than the premiums. I don't use the cockpit view anyway so that is not a problem. It seems like a lot of the really good cars are standards. It's a pity you can't paint them or change the rims.

I bought a few, but the ones I want look so pathetic it turned me off from them all together.

I've bought 4 premium cars...and many many standard cars....

can't find so many "exciting" cars in the premium shop...
