Then you open the thread... and there's a picture of...

...come on, you know...

...YES, A BUG. (or beetle if you're educated! )

Then the final comedy moment...

See, the comedy is on two levels. 1) Word association 2) Humanisation of an animal which insinuates grief on the part of the story teller.

OK.

Having had it explained to me, and still not finding it funny, I'm going to give up.

Monty Python was fantastic, and nobody ever had to explain it to me, which would indicate that either (a) your 'bug' thing just isn't funny, or (b) it's funny in an obscure way that isn't anything to do with Monty Python.

But thanks for taking time with the explanation, anyway.
