Has GT6 changed your preferred driving view?

No change. I´m old. I stick to the old. Besides the menus the game hasn`t changed very much - except it has more flaws, bugs and micro transactions now.

No, still use bumper cam like I did in GT5.

But speaking of games that changed my preferred driving view, GT5 changed my preferred view back to bumper after GT5P's cockpit view grew on me.

Cockpit always if possible. With standards I use roof/bonnet. Bumper... just no, I can't see/estimate the width of the car from that view at all. Always end up hitting something. Nor I can see how the car behaves.

In GT3 and 4 I used the chase cam. When 5 came out started to use cockpit and then switched to bumper. Still waiting on my GT6, but I will probably still use bumper with a mix of cockpit.

Since no hood is visible in Standard cars and since the outside from the cockpit view is so dark in GT6 anyway (as if I was driving with sunglasses), I find myself using the bumper cam most of the time.

I use cockpit view, apart from mission races (like goodwood etc) where I can't go out of the track, then I have to use chase cam to see where my car is at on the road

Cockpit view, always.
I actually don't mind the black standard interiors, less distraction and better framerates.
I don't like the fact that they changed the HUD for standards though.

(I used bumper cam for Goodwood as well, there was too much frame dropping / screen tear for me to see where I was going in cockpit view :()

I tend to mostly use the bonnet cam, but it's inconsistent and not always helpful, especially in open top cars... IMO the only good view for racing games were you can't replicate peripheral vision with 3-5 screens, is the TV Pod cam on an F1 car, gives you good peripheral vision good sense of the size of the car, allows you to see the wheel so you know what your inputs relate too and allows you to see the front and sides of the car so you can get nice and aggressive

For me it's the opposite... since GT4 I have basically only used the rooftop view because I think it gives a better overview (especially on the sides) and makes it easier to drive with precision... but now with the blindside indicators in GT6 I usually drive using the cockpit view which wasn't the case before!

I'm a cockpit cam guy but due to the framerate and lighting issues in GT6 I use bumper cam for races. Still use cockpit cam for TTs and cruising around though...

I agree with you about the standard black mask cockpits! I like them. They give me the sense of being "in the car" that I want from a cockpit cam and the visibility limitations and so forth, without killing the performance. The black mask with bumper cam hud overlays would be ideal...and an option to use a black mask INSTEAD of a premium cockpit would be nifty too.

I have always used bumper/bonnet cam since GT1 and that hasn't changed for GT6. I appreciate the graphical nicety of the cockpit view but I don't find it very realistic (in any racing game I've tried) and I find chase view almost gives me motion sickness :-)

Since my first car of GT4 i use Hood Cam for almost every car... Only for slower cars (under 350pp in GT5 and GT6) I use Cockpit view (premium ones)

I was bumper cam all through GT5. I wanted to like the cockpit view but I couldn't find my braking points or the apexes well. Since getting GT6 though I've been nothing but cockpit cam. For some reason I'm finding that I can see the track better in cockpit view in GT6 compared to GT5. I know the cockpit cam is pretty much the same as in GT5 but I'm adapting to it better in GT6. That being said I'm sure I'm faster with bumper cam... I always have been quickest in that view. When there are more time trial seasonals to get into I'm sure I'll be finding my way back to the bumper cam.

No, and I use bumper cam because I don't need a virtual steering wheel on my screen when I have one in my hands.

No, I still use the bumper cam when racing/time trialing and the cockpit view when just cruising around.

Preferred is bonnet cam. I like the novelty of cockpit but without proper head tracking I find the view claustrophobic with a feeling that Im driving the car from the back seat. Being that GTs have been spotty with a proper bonnet cam I tend to bounce between the cars that have it and bumper cam for the rest. There are a few open cockpit vehicles that I use cockpit view like the Xbow.

In GT5 I did bumper cam mostly. I liked cockpit, but I took such a speed hit when I used it that I just gave up on it. In GT6 I started off with cockpit since I figured the event are easy in the beginning, so I could warm up to it. Well I'm into international now in career mode and still in cockpit cam exclusively. I also made a bigger leap and have turned off all race data. I only turn it on if I really don't know the track, and then turn it off after a few laps. I'm finding that I pay better attention to the track this way. I'm really enjoying zero driving aids (other than ABS set to 1 in some cars) and no race data on the screen. I am not as fast, but I'm having a lot of fun with it. Also, if it's too dark outside, I just adjust the EV brightness in the menu during the race.

I can see how you could use chase cam with a controller, but I don't know how on earth anybody could use chase cam with a racing wheel.

Yeah, I changed to cockpit view. I used to use the roof view, but it seems like a lot of the new cars use hood view, which looks really ugly.

I use the cockpit view any time it's available, GT6 is no exception. I agree that playing with the bumper cam might be easier, and might confer some advantages but I play it to simulate driving cars, not make a floating camera go around a track faster than everyone else. And even though the cockpit view isn't perfect, I think it's still the bestapproximation, at least until I can get my hands on an Oculus Rift and a game that supports it.
