Has GT6 changed your preferred driving view?

I think there are two ways to improve the very dark cockpits in some cars:
1. Turn off HDMI deep colour in the PS3 menus
2. Add lots of gamma/brightness using the GT6 display menu

I found that option 1 was enough for me, apart from judging the shadows at Goodwood I can drive full cockpit mode (which was very sluggish during the first few hours of play. But now that everything is cached to my PS3's SSD I get almost no frame rate drops in cockpit view).

This is not a solution. Yes, you can increase white level (or decrease amount of black) both in the PS3 menus and in the TV menus, but then everything else, other than cockpit, becomes so white and bright and just flawed.

Have you tried turning off HDMI deep colour?

For some reason I find myself using bonnet view a lot more than I did in GT5 (always been a fan of interior view).

I find it hard to see from the interview view, maybe it's just my pathetic little tv...

I haven't gotten a chance to see it for myself yet... just regurgitating what I've been reading all morning.

I just tried disabling HDMI deep colour and, as excepted, absolutely nothing has changed. These minor video settings won't affect such huge shadow problem.

Try it yourself, Free Run -> Daytona Road Course. (Honda FIT, or any other road car)

My guess is that more and more people are starting to notice this problem as they try new tracks and other cars. The patch is just a coincidence

I used to drive in cockpit view except time trials where i used bumper cam because i can go faster that way. Now in gt6 the cockpit view suffers from framerate drops too much and the roof/hood cam seems to work perfect in terms of graphics performance and visibility, so I'm using that one now

Im also a diehard cockpit view racer but now i only race with the roof/bonnet cam... PD must patch the cokpit view asap! The darkness isnt the only problem for me though, my framerate is worse when im in cockpit view aswell!

I use cockpit view 99% of the time and I don't mind the darker interior view but I drive with narrow or narrower interior view angle option maybe that setting will help. Viewing more road and less interior make it feels less dark, at least for me.

I´m playing in cockpit "again", to me it seems more clear now in a lot of cars. Kept changing views to see the differences between outside and cockpit and it is still darker but not as much as before.

Audi R18TDI and Subaru BRZ at Nürburgring looked way too dark and now it looks way better to me, and in circuits as Bathurst and Brands Hatch as well.

Need to check all my cars or the ones it was way too dark. But PD must be tweaking it a little bit for the better. (some people need to chill out a bit)

I've found that on very flat course like Silverstone I have problems with the bumper view (front) as too low and cannot gauge where the corner's apex is accurately, So have started using the roof/bonnet? view in it's place..... I rarely use the in car view unless showing off the game to my friends.....

I too noticed last night that I could no longer re-create the almost total blackout I had been experiencing. Some are still fairly dark but not totally unusable like before. I wonder though why some people are still getting that and others aren't at all while I now seem to be in the middle?

Still the variations need to be fixed the rest of the way. I think I get what they were trying to do now but it's not working right. And none of these issues exist in total night darkness that I can tell.

I've always used first person view until GT5P when I switched to the cockpit view.

What I'd really like is PD to add Bonnet view as an option. You can select it in replays so it shouldn't be difficult.

we need:
seat ajustment forward/backward up/down
a real FOV setup option(not only that stupid standard, near, even near)
a option to turn off that disgusting camera shaking.

one thing that i want to know is why the hell some cars cockpit view isnt centered! Try out the Stratos or the Veyron for example! you dont sit centered to the wheel at all! (sorry for my broken english)

its not a bug or something. in some cars the steering wheel is not centered to the drivers seat. i know that from some cars in reallife.

I did not know that some cars didnt have centered steering wheels, sounds really weird. Have you tried the Veyron for example? in other games the wheel is centered in the veyron!

i always use cockpit view 'cause otherwise its not realistic to me.
that's the reason i never buy a standard car.
yesterday i bought a citroen gt race car (2.200.000 cr) but i can't see **** from that cockpit, and eventhow i love the car's looks and the way it drives, he will stay in the garage, 'cause i can't drive him cockpit view...

I prefer cockpit view, but some cars just have a bad visibility or very dark window tint, so I switch to roof/hood view sometimes (just with it had a rearview mirror).

When I used to have a wheel set up I used bumper-cam

Since I've kicked back and gone to a hand controller I use chase-cam

If GT6 had a proper bonnet-cam I'd be all over it :D

Went from almost exclusively bumper cam to about half bumper cam, half cockpit view.
