I am really enjoying GT5 prologue but I would really like this game to become the premier console racing game but I just feel that PD have bitten off more than they can chew.
There are details that I just can't see making the final game without other comprimises.
I can remember at a previous show,I don't know whether it was GDC or tokyo games show but Kaz Yamauchi did a presentation were he promised amazing details like a livery editor etc.
He should play to the PS3's strength and not let sony bully him into 1080p with 60fps. But when we look at prologue in its present state with screen tearing and slowdown why does he not reduce the game to 720p with 8 or 10 cars on track and give us a smoother experience. I know the game needs optimised but when GT4 was released after GT4 prologue it had been downgraded. I feel if GT5 is downgraded it will not be the game I will be wanting. The smoke is terrible and where are the tyre marks and reverse lights? Small details I know but why do PD insist on leaving them out.
I do trust PD as developers but how will they get the game to a better state with damage and better online.
Turn10 are now viable competitors with a younger, smaller developement team and judging by their website they are hiring more people so it seems PD need to watch out.
I do love this game but forza 2's suzuka track puts GT5's to shame with better road textures, trackside details, better 3D crowds and more.
Turn10 I am sure are already starting on forza3 and with GT5 prologue out they are already planning how to beat it.
