Has the game gone "gold"?

Just curious since usually you see the devs announce when the game goes gold. There's only 3 weeks left until release. If it hasn't gone gold how close can they get to the release date before finalizing the game?

Quite close I should imagine. Going Gold (Unless times have changed) is sending it off to the printers for production, right? Disc burning, printing, case sleeves an whatever bits of paper will go inside. Send it off to a 24hr warehouse around lunch an you'll have made enough to stock the entire country by morning. Sit on it for a bit to ensure nothing is horrible wrong. Then a couple days to get it into the hands of stores/distributors...

As far as the digital content... I remember DICE a while ago talking about one of its patches for BF3 was ready to go, but didn't turn up for download for about a week, because of Sony/Microsoft checking it over an giving its approval for distribution. If they follow that sort of path for all digital content. A week? maybe two given the size?

So... They could in theory hold off right up until the last week of March an still be peachy.

It's not far of, but please don't create a thread when the subject has already been discussed in the general thread. If every one posts a new thread for every question it then becomes difficult to find information for those that aren't regulars to this section of forum.

The one with over 11,000 posts. I can't see how finding answers in a thread that big is supposed to be easier than searching forum thread titles.
