The amount of hate mail I've recieved there it beyond beleif, usually because I question why someone's comment has recieved -rep for saying something like - "i prefer the other album"

makes me sick

It was awful! I saw a video (from somebody I know) where some poor youth was being beaten up and harassed incessantly. This included having genitalia stuffed into his mouth, being urinated upon, getting kicked, and someone even dumped excrement onto him! The poster said that the boy never returned to school again, and everybody who commented on it approved of it! This is truly one of the many lows of YouTube.
 
How is that video allowed on YouTube? It must have been removed by now, surely?

If not, report it straight away!
 
I know it's Ctrl + Alt + Del and therefore not very funny, but I think this summarises the mentality of it all quite well (excpet for this forum; we're actually pretty well-behaved).

It won't be there long. It's a rarity for any video to show breasts or genitalia.
 
Believe it or not someone actually said Led Zeppelin was an Avril Lavigne wannabe... Right.

Edit: Just typed in Led Zeppelin into youtube, and you wouldn't believe how much hate there is. I won't even bother to find that one, because all of them are just crazy.

I've read a few, but they're usually drowned by the retarded comments that flood it.

I guess it depends on what kind of vids you see.
If you're watching funny/stupid vids, the comments in general (basically all of them) will be stupid as well.
I keep finding some very good and insightful comments while watching vids of, for instance, Jacques Villeneuve tributes, historical F1/racing vids in general... mostly, stuff for old people, you know? :D

Otherwise, it's a braindead fest.
Every vid I see of a Lambo, drifting or whatever (more modern stuff) is just paved with idiotic and obscene remarks that really make me want to pull the plug on Youtube.

The least they could do was having a swear filter and having the 4+ negative-scored comments removed... I'm sure that would help.

The only "intelligent" comments I have read on YouTube are the ones on the videos of the show "Dogfights". I love that show, it teaches you about airplane fights and stuff.
This is a magnificent episode, really worth watching. This is Part 1 out of 5.

I just saw some YT comments, I just searched "skyline" and "evo" and saw some of the comments, this one made me lol:

It's got to be some serious trolling cause suicidalbring3 has said about the same thing on every Led Zepplin video.

I also find that the comment function on youtube is one of the most hostile environments you can find on the Internet. That's why I have the comment function set to "manually enable" for all the videos I uploaded there.

I had a nice one with this video, a funnily meant, yet mean german commercial for opticians. I even left "not for the faint and animal lovers!" in the description, but noone seems to care.



So one day, the following comment was left:

"This is ****ing sick! I hate Germany now! ****ing Nazis!"



Of course, I removed this comment, still I felt the need to respond. Here is what I wrote:

"Dear XXXXXXXXXXXX,

I just read the comment you left for my Guinea Pig commercial, in which you state that the content is "****ing sick", and that you "hate germany now". Additionally, you call germans "****ing nazis".
It seems you are a friend of guinea pigs, and I have nothing against them whatsoever. I actually think that they are cute animals. Therefor, I do have respect for the fact that commercials like these are not for everyone, which is why I put the follwoing line into my comment about this video:"Not for the faint and animal lovers!".

It is your right to dislike this commerial, but that is no reason to discard and insult a whole nation. I am sure that there are commercials from your country which I won't like, but you won't find me insulting you or even calling you names.

As a result, I removed your comment from the list. It would only lead to further insults and a discussion that has little to do with the actual subject. Feel free to reply to this message, but please, do it in a sophisticated manner.

I comment all the time, and have plenty of faves. however, I don't check out music vids that aren't original, anymore (like an amateur playing a cut from a vid game soundtrack or something), as they tend to get pulled for policy violations. concert footage, cribbed videoes, etc, are basically a gigantic no-no. companies are hyper-touchy about copyright violations. and, if their not, the admin is. one guy I was watching had his Guru account deleted because he forgot to REMOVE an old cartoon clip.
