Have people forgotten about the ESCUDO?

When I see people talk about cars to use for the 'Super' races, why doesn't the good old ESCUDO ever get any mentions? It costs less than any of the le Mans cars, yet out accelerates and out corners any of them. Only downside is it needs a draft to get beyond 200mph despite having 1000+hp, but that is still more useful than a Deltawing or a (tuned down) Formula GT. Was one of my favourite cars in GT5.

I guess because it's 4WD and not all races allow for that drivetrain? Just a guess. But yeah it's a damn good car!

There are also those other 3 pikes peak cars from Tajima and Suzuki, which are just as good and premium ;)

Yes, I have forgotten the Escudo. Haven't used it since GT2. But going to try it when I get home. Thanks for the reminder.

The Tajima pikes peak car is a horrid electric car, with crap acceleration and bad handling (one car I regret buying), the monster sx4 on the other hand is simply a better handling version of the escudo and my favourite car in the game.

The good times of Escudo are over... This demostrate how the physic model evolved from the PSOne days...
Escudo appeared the first time on with GT2 if i don't remember bad, and it was the best car of the game, because at that time u could grind the walls much easier than now so in the rally races it was unbeatable and in normal races it had much power to overtake most powerfull opponent of those days and take them behind in the turns...
Now? Now it's everything different... Comparing GT2 Escudo's handling with the GT6 one, it handles worst meanwhile race cars like JGTCs, GT1s, LMPs handles a bit better (even if more realistic), so u can't win much races with it in track competition. Rallys? depends if u actually can crash and grind-walk walls, as in very little tracks the new hatchbacks can beat her in agility...

Then I'm afraid, you might never get to use it... :(

And that's fine, I won't lose any sleep over it. I've tested it out previously, so I know I'm not missing much. There are plenty of other cars in the game which I do enjoy driving, that one car is not a make or break car as far as the game is concerned....at least for me.

That's not what I meant at all, well, nevermind...

I´ve aways prefered the Scudo over any other car you could find in the Super races... Allways used it for every race, except at La Sarthe, due to the fact that it couldn´t reach over 300kph.

I agree with Cargoratt, it just feels blasphemous to use it on a racing circuit. But it is wildly fun to drive offroad.
The other Pikes Peak car from GT2 was The Cultus Pikes Peak Version.

There's a slight problem with using it for the super races where its speed is most necessary...it doesn't have lights.

So at Le Mans and Spa, when it reaches darkness, you won't see where you're going.

Mind you, I haven't forgotten about it. That's why I tuned it.

Does the Tajima and the Monster Sport have headlights? I still haven´t driven those... BTW thanks for sharing the tune.

The E-Runner definitely doesn't. But that's so much slower and more difficult anyway.

The SX4...it looks like it has headlights. But god knows if they work. You never know with Pikes Peak cars like it.

I might give the SX4 a try... allways seemed like a car that would interest me.

The Tajima is an awesome car, it handles just like the Monster Sport.

Oh no it doesn't. The Tajima is much more wayward and difficult than the Monster Sport for sure. And once you get to 100mph in it you lose a lot of acceleration.

Yep, it appeard first on GT2 along with another great Pikes Peak Suzuki, wich name i don´t remember.

The other car in GT2, is the Suzuki Cultus Pikes Peak' 92. It is powered by 2 Straight-4 engines, one in front, and one in the back of the car (FR4 Layout). It's power is rated at 800 BHP combined.

I have never, EVER forgotting about my beloved Escudo. It's mine! My own! MY PRECIOUSSSSSS!!!!!!

Sorry for that, but seriously, how could I forget about that car. It is for me the equivalent of Mario Andretti's Hudson. It truly was my first love (speaking about cars here, guys! Not my personal love life! that was my first playstation)

I can remember in GT2 getting car over 300mph now your lucky to get over 200 :(

The escudo is always the first car I buy when I get a lot of money, I won the gt World Cup or whatever it's called, (the last race before your S license ) with ease,

That´s it, i loved driving that car, had great acceleration plus a preety neat purple & white livery.... it´s one of the cars i most wish to see back in the series.

Overall, I've driven the escudo several times, it has great acceleration, but, it "stalls" when I hit it to 300Km/h, it's known for the corners, not for the straights, despite it having 1000+ horsepower and 800K/g of weight.

Ring lapped it on GT5 recently. I think I got a sub 6 lap with it or something.
