Have we complained about the drifting yet?

specifically the lack there of. They put drift mode in and then only give you two or three corners. Unless there is a way to do full laps in drift mode? Either way, Your sauce is weak, kaz.

Loved drifting in gt5/6. Spent TONS of time doing it. Its horrible in GTS. I dont even bother with it at all. This one is clearly focused on the racing. Im fine with that but I do miss drifting. Im sure its possible and people are killin in but Im just not feelin the GTS drifting. Ill stick to Assetto on my pc for my drift fix.

Really? Hm. I never played gt5&6. But this one is loads better than gt4 for drifting. A lot of fun with a wheel. I just got tired of replaying the same two corners. It gets Sooooooo old. Why PD? WHY?

I’m sure they add the option to do a full lap like they did in GT5. It too started out with just a few sectors if I’m not mistaking.
Also, noticed the drift setup tab?(I’m sure you have) I’m pretty sure we’ll get some drift events soon. Kaz said a lot of offline content will be added later. This is just 1/3 or less of the content we’ll get.
If you believe what he says, of course. He has promised a lot over the years, but it’s slowly getting there.. took seven years to get the promised livery editor, so you never know.

Yes, livery editor was promised for GT5. Remember?

Ive notice this as a trend with today’s games. A platoon did the same. Launch an incomplete game and fill in the blanks later on, usually as wallet raping DLC. Unbelievable culture we let slide. And they wonder why so many have gone back to PC gaming.

One tip on drifting in this game- it’s all about entry speed and angle. Don’t even TOUCH that throttle until the vehicle is past the clipping point. Too many rivers think drifting is all about throttle control. It isn’t. In true, real life, drifting in Japan, you slide the car loooong before the turn in. Hold that slide as long as possible until your feel the chassis slowing and regaining grip, THEN pile on the throttle. You’ll get a lot of points this way, AND it transfers as a real life skill.

So what about drifting in another country?!

After the 1.05 update I find drifting much easier now with the pad. Can’t say it’s something I bother with much though.

Drifting is a lot more difficult. Before the 1.05 patch, for some reason if you let off the gas while drifting around a corner, the car just spins out :odd: I don't know if it's because I upset the balance of the car or something, but I'm pretty sure that didn't happen in GT5 and 6. Cars also felt a lot slippery. You can get wide angles but you would be quite slow. Now, after the 1.05 patch, there's more longitudinal grip so you can go faster now, but you can't go as wide, lest you spin out. The spin-out due to throttle release still occurs, but not as much.

Whoops. What I meant by that is: how the Japanese drift is considerably different than what you see in the USA. Here (USA) they accomplish it with massive power slides. In Japan style the entry is LOOOOOOONG and very little throttle input at the initial bit.

Some things i dont get compared to drifting in reality so far.
When i brake in a corner because my car is getting to fast or the next corner is tighter than the last, in GTS my car straigthens out.
In reality when i brake slightly my car slows and turns in. So far i cant do this in the game. Ist always straighten the car when i brake.
It is almost impossible to make a drift from left to right or right to left in this game. With the wheel i am not close to fast enough. In reality i got a lot more time to make the side change if i manage to just have a little wheelspin on the rear wheels. The more throttlecontrol the easier you can go on the wheel in reality. In the game it is all very agressiv.
Also i would like to have driftcars with more steering angle in the game. Would be great. Please make drifting more like in GT5 again. There i managed to drift the Mustang around full laps and braking and throttle responded like my real car. Here it is nothing that i would call close to reality after you lose grip at the backend.
What is possible so far for me is to make 1 long drift since latest updates. Thats already a huge improvement. But also i wish there was full laps. Who decided to chose some corners for example on suzuka... Really? There are a lot more fun corners on that Track.
Or i thin Dragon Trail ist a down hill section. Why chosing the hard way when uphill it would be easier. The game is already hard enough to drift compared to reality.
I hope for further improvements ;).
