Have you made any stupid car buys?
I bought an Amuse S2000 GT1 and an AEM S2000 and now I've just discovered that you can win them...
I almost bought an Audi R8 LMS too.
I now have to check the internet to see what is winnable.

Bought a '70 Chevelle SS in blue with black stripes. Not only does it look pretty dang bad in blue with black stripes, it's not agile enough for the Muscle Car Championship (turns like the Titanic in the Panama Canal), and it's too recent for the Classic Car Championship. And you can't repaint it.

1949 VW Käfer 1100 Standard for 38.000 Cr. in the UCD, and won it in B-Spec 3 days after that.

I nearly wasted a huge amount of money on a Ferrari F40 today, but stopped myself. I've never gone much over 1 million credits because I always end up buying something. I bought the '91 Acura NSX today and race-modded it, for absolutely no reason. I don't need it I just wanted one.

I dropped $517,000 on a DeLorean fairly early on that I wanted so badly... badly enough to delay buying my Lamborghini Gallardo and Ferrari F430 that I actually needed to progress through the game with. THEN I discovered that I could win one in B-Spec...:grumpy:

I was not impressed.

I made a few mistakes early on, learned my lesson quick - now I track all of my cars at this site: http://www.mygranturismo.net/

Really helps me from doing boneheaded things (Purchasing a car I could win soon, and purchasing a car I already have, and purchasing a car for an event, only to find out it couldn't be used in that event... all happened)

Burned off about 2millions on the Mazda Furai just to collect it. After the next b-spec event got one as a price car. And guess what that car cant be sold...

Nismo GTR R34 R-Tune

Amuse Carbon R

bought both cars, then later I won both cars... :dunce:

going by OP, sounds like I might regret my Amuse S2000 GT1 purchase I made yesterday too...

errr hate when you buy a car and tuning it up then you win it after an event
worst feeling ever

I also bought the Amuse GT1...love that car though :)

Purchased a Kart when I first started playing the game and about an hour later discovered that I could win it :fail:

Tesla roadster. It's available in Arcade mode and serves absolutely no purpose in GT mode whatsoever. Though it was interesting to see how little you could mod it.

My brother blew almost 1 million a XJ220 :(

I dont think Ive made a buy I regret. I am out to buy every car I've ever wanted :D

I seriously have 3 ZR1's (all different colors), 5 GTR Spec V's (multi colors), and 3 Amuse 380 Superleggara's (multi color). And for the ****'s and giggles I bought an NSX race modded it and put snow tires on it

And 130 other cars

BMW 2002 turbo...Its a prize car. And a M3 CSL for someone, who then backed out so i have 2 CSL now:/

Yes, I know this feeling, a friend wanted a Sauber C9 and was willing to trade a prototype muira and ferrari P4.

I needed my Sauber C9 for Le Mans 24hr a spec, so I bought another from used and sent message to ''friend'' (ahem...cough...cough...) saying I was ready to trade, only for him to reply that he'd got a Sauber from someone else, but ''forgot'' to tell me..

This was a week after I bought an Audi R8 LMS and R35gtr Le Mans car from used, only to win them in endurance races the following two days..

Anyone else wasted 10 million on cars?????

I bought an RX-7 to use on that new seasonal challenge, modded it a bit but still can't get anywhere near the prize positions. Maybe it's just me not being able to drive it, but that event seems impossible and I hate this sodding car.

Still, I think it was only around 80-100k spent so it's not too bad. I also bought a cart early on and then won one. D:

Depends on your idea of stupid, there are stupid cars I bought just for fun or the paint. Like I bought a Fit and Colt just to get the pink paints, sold them right after.

Probably the dumbest thing I did was max out the Daihatsu Midget. Why? I won it in Aspec after the Truck series and kept it because it wasn't really worth selling for so cheap. I remembered racing against one in that beginner lightweight series, and that bugger was way faster than everyone else(except me). Came time to do that race in Bspec(I waited forever before I decided to do Bspec races), decided that Midget would be good since I sold my last lightweight. After installing several upgrades and still losing, it was eventually MAXED out, he still couldn't get better than 4th. I can live with that I guess, trial and error you know? But the car was STILL worth only $1700 after being maxed. I understand it won't be worth anywhere near as much as I put into it, but still....

I also wonder why I spent $50k+ on a good SVT Lightning just to win a Daihatsu Midget that doesn't even go for $2000. I was REALLY ticked when I won it again in the Bspec race, after watching my driver slam on the brakes on an oval...

An '89 Toyota Corina
Tuning it up until it had 245 HP, and then having to lower it down to 209 for it to even be drivable. Couldn't even turn at Daytona without a 007 smoke screen coming out.
I still love it though. :3

I bought a Audi Pikes Peak Quattro Concept '03 at the UCD for 900,000+ Cr. and won the damn car the next race. Immediately tried to resold the used one only to find "this car can not be sold." :ouch: Lost 900,000 credits when I couldn't make much at the time.

I bought civic sir as my first car, only to find the same car as prize in my first races at FF cup.

What a wrong first step. Haha...

Bought the Mitsubishi i-Miev for no reason what so ever. Took it for a few laps around eiger and it already depleted 1/4 of its charge after 3-4 laps. Sounds like a jet taking off too. Quiet electric car? Hell no.

GT by Citroen. Blew 2,000,000 on it, because it was untouchable in GT5 Prologue. In this game, it blows. Utterly worthless.

Worst of all, you can't resell it once you've bought it. :(

You also win it as a prize in the endurance series.

Beautiful car, I was saving up for it when I realized I was about to win one. Glad I didn't spend any credits on it.
