I've never been to a Red Dwarf, Stargate or Star Trek convention.

Brent Spiner was great, mainly because my opening gambit had sod all to do with Star Trek. Alexander Siddig was similarly extremely pleasant.

I also forgot to add Nicholas Brendon, Kelly Donovan (that was freaky) and Alexis Denisoff - who was kind enough to inform me of the exact location of his wife (Alyson Hannigan) at that moment in time, so I could go stalk her.

I saw MJ (Michael Jordan) a few times around growing up as I live like 5 miles from the Nike World Campus :sly: He always wears a suit that slick dude. This past November I was hitting on Natalie while standing in line for Big Brother 9. What a hottie! I thought it was great but my fiance didn't :ouch: As the auditions was only 2 miles from my place, man do I live in a good place Go P-Town!

Famine met Danny John Jules he's awesome!

The cat is red dwarf's best character:tup:

I met George Thorogood at a party. I hung around on the periphery of his crowd for a while, and then he played some songs on an old Martin acoustic. Way cool

I'd kill to meet him, he's just brilliant. 👍

I haz list:

Brent Spiner
Alexander Siddig (Siddig El-Fadil*)
Christopher Judge
Michael Shanks
Jolene Blalock
Lawrence Makoare
John Rhys-Davies
Alan Cumming (this will probably be yoinked by the swear filter)
Danny John-Jules
Chris Barrie
Craig Charles
Robert Llewellyn
Ray Park
Adam West
Mike Tindall
Andrew Cato (of Groove Armada)

There's more, but I forget.

*Siddig El Tahir El Fadil El Siddig El Abderahman El Mohammed Ahmed El Abdel Karim El Mahdi

John Rhys-Davies rings a bell somewhere, but I've never heard of any of the others on your list. Are they all British?

I hazn´t list, just a few:

The entire Machine Head band, we hung around bars with a few other people for most of the night (they had an early plane to catch) in Lisbon after their concert.

Skin, the lead singer from Skunk Anansie, chatted a couple of minutes with her after a bar concert in Lisbon, a few years ago.

Shook hands with Robert de Niro when he came to Lisbon a few months ago.

Chatted a few times with Rui Costa and Nuno Gomes (both Benfica football players, Rui Costa - ex-AC Milan). chatted a few times with most players of the team, but those are even less important.
Their training facilities are 500m from where I work, in a very quiet area.

Ayrton Senna waved at me and my cousin on the Estoril track in 1994, when he was doing pre-season test for Willliams, we kept shouting his name so he'd look at us, which he finally did.

Jerome

My dad saw him in an Elevator in 1981, when MJ was a Freshman at UNC.

I am on a first-name basis with the former president of Latvia and Chairperson of UN nominee Vaira Vike Freiberga. She used to live in Montreal and my parents are good friends with her. We used to get invitations to all sorts of parties to the presidential palace, and when she comes to Canada she has my mother cater her vacations. She is an absolutely incredibly knowledgeable person.

I've also met some NHL guys, the most known probably being Karlis Skrastins who is a starting defenceman for the Avs. He stayed at my house when he was 15 or so for a tournament. I've also met Patrice Brisebois, but he's a has-been. He races Ferraris, so I'll forgive his putrid game on ice.

I was at a cocktail party for the local Ferrari club chapter at a high end tailor and Eddie Jordan walked in. He felt some fabrics and then walked out.

I've met a whole legion of pro snowboarders that nobody here would know. They're mostly cool guys.

And then I saw Mike Bullard in downtown Guelph...

This isn't something you should be bragging about. He is without a doubt the least funny comedian of all time.

I saw Miroslav Satan in a shop, and Dominik Hasek... whom I met and spoke to. Also spoke once with Doug Flutie, and in NYC I saw Fabien Barthez, walking right by me.

Once, after I jazz concert I went to a bar and there was Pat Metheny... he had played at the concert and then went to this bar. We spoke for about 2 minutes and then he played a bit. And I drove by Mike Oldfield's place once and he was outside... so we chatted a bit... mostly him telling me not to go by again.

Oh my God...

Three of the greatest sports figures in Buffalo in the past decade, and two of my favorite musicians ever. Is there a way to trade? :nervous:

Wow, I take it back then.

I know who they are, just not by their names. Great list, Famine. 👍

Hm.

This got me thinking.

We watch a few of the nouveau riche where I work. I'm met and seen quite a few Premiership footballers. I niether know, care or quite frankly give a flying fruitloop who they are. Pretty girlfriends, usually. :)

Rowan Atkinson - at work, just on the phone in the corridor.
Stirling Moss and Tiff Needell - at a Revival Festival, chatting in the paddock. (Cheerz beerz for the typo update. :) )
Robert Plant - shopping in WHSmiths not far from his home town.
Bernie Ecclestone - shopping in Selfridges. At the fish counter. What a missed opportunity for an ASBO. :)
Jonathon Ross and David Baddiel - at Rob Newman's first London solo gig!
Tony Iommi - at work, chatting to one of my buddies. (Of course, I went up and my buddy introduced me. "Yeah, Tony used to live next door to a shared house I used to live in." TI: "When they were having loud parties, I used to go around and turn the volume up." Cool as. :D )

There are quite a few more, I think (especially form the world of motorsports.) But I'm rarely starstruck. But then, if/when I meet Natalie Imbruglia or Katie Melua, Mister Brain is going to take a long run to Gibbering Numpty City.

Finally... before the band charted in the UK, backstage at the Wolverhampton Civic hall, to do the sounds recording for a schools music magazine interview... and I had no clue who they were or what they would become...

Kurt Cobain and Nirvana.

Funny guys, they were pretty sober and lucid at the time and I could tell they were pretty darn cool. :)

P.S.:
Famine
Jolene Blalock - US - Ishta (Stargate SG1), T'pol (Star Trek Enterprise)
yeah, I would have drooled a little there too. She is gorgeous.

Anyway, your hockey bit reminded me. I used to know Manny Malhotra quite well. Even have his OHL hockey card, and I'm pretty sure I have a hockey stick and a hat that he signed somewhere.

Ah, I've also met Sergio Momeso, who was pretty big a couple decades ago. I used to eat at his brother's restaurant every Wednesday night.

Sterling Moss and Tiff Needell - at a Revival Festival, chatting in the paddock.
Stirling Moss? Way cool. 👍

*slaps Venari*

Try to get it done next time.

Kurt Cobain and Nirvana.

Also, way cool. 👍

There, there...

*pats kikie in the back gently, making him feel all better*

Only international MX Riders. Sometimes on a raceday, sometimes practising on a track not to far from here.
I actually tried to stuff confetti in Stefan Everts his t shirt when i was younger.
Wel, it was carnaval and he used to live in the same town as me :)
He was injured on his left arm, but his right arm was strong enough to fend me off :(

Don't know if i met any other famous people. Could be, but i can't remember. (Except for Famine offcourse ;) )

Crap, forgot one (that I can recall).

Pedro Lamy (If you haven't at least heard of him once in your life, you're not a racing fan) - talked to him a few times on both car shows and on the Estoril circuit, during various events. Truly a great guy. 👍

I used to live in some apartments a few years back. On the top floor on my section lived The Big Show's ex-wife and daughter. Never saw the giant though.

I was about 10 feet from Jared Leto at a signing after a concert and screamed his name so loud he had to look at me. That was cool.

I've mostly seen racers like

Ryan Newman
Travis Kvapil
Mario Andretti
Hurley Haywood
Darrell Waltrip
Tommy Ivo
Bill Simpson
Mel Kenyon
Helio Castroneves
A.J. Foyt
Bobby Unser
Elliott Forbes-Robinson
Geoff Brabham
Bobby Rahal
Tom Sneva
Robby Gordon
Raul Malo singer, wasn't my choice to go see him
All Dyson's team many times since my dad works for there sponser Thetford
Alot of American LeMans, Grand Am, Nascar, IRL

Not much... I have seen James Hetfield (Metallica guitarist) once before, and I'm pretty sure I've seen Kerry King (Slayer guitarist) too. Other than that, not really, not going about a regular day at least.

My dad has the best story of all.

My dad boarded an airplane (just a regular flight mind you), found his seat, and sat down. A few minutes later when people were finishing up boarding, he feels someone plop a bag in the seat next to him, and sit down. Naturally my dad looks over and who does he see but Steven Tyler. My dad is sitting there in amazement while nobody realizes that Steven Tyler is right there. My dad then asks "could I have your autograph?" and everbody in the plane looks over. My dad said that Steven Tyler was cool about it, and after he gave my dad his autograpgh, proceeded to eat premade sandwiches the entire flight

Halso said that he saw Aerosmith perform at his college before they were big. The bad part was that everyone booed them because they were all drunk and weren't playing well.

Cool story, but...

What changed?

What changed?

I dunno, maybe Liv and let Liv?

(Actually, better add Liv Tyler to the personal meeting producing involuntary bodily fluid count.

Did I just say that out loud?)

Oh my God...

Three of the greatest sports figures in Buffalo in the past decade, and two of my favorite musicians ever. Is there a way to trade? :nervous:

Yep... Satan I saw in Target, just walking around. Flutie at a Mighty Mighty Bosstones free concert and Hasek was at a mall... in a restaurant called Big Kahuna's oddly enough.

I also saw Famine on some pics of UKGTP meetings, does that count?

I was stacking shelves at work the Friday after the Haye fight when I spotted Enzo Maccrinelli walking down the aisle. The stunned look on my face seemed worthy of an acknowledgement off him. That made my shift worthwhile.
