Speaking of wet surface tires etc, in the rain demo video's I have not seen any sort of tire temaprature icons on the hud or anything similiar to indicate if they are cold or hot etc. I remember in old GT's there was an icon for wear and tear unless it has slipped by me.

I would imagine thats because being only a demo, tire wear isnt turned on.

Yes that slipped my mind and as i remember blue was fresh tires and red were dead ones, but what about the inclusion of maybe "dynamic weather", do you think more colours would be included. I know when you go off the track the car does not grip for abit (noticed this in GTPSP), but this was more about feel than an indicator of some sort.

not sure any indicator for dirty tires is needed. an indicator of tire condition is pushing it anyway, you should be able to tell when you need a tire change because you are the one driving, not because they are red

I assume that with a more advanced weather/cooling/heating system would come a more advanced indication system.

Those were only shown for longer races, like 10 laps or more.

Not everyone is a tire expert or professional racer.
If your using a pad, there isnt as much feedback as to what the tires are doing and they're condition.

OK thanks for the input guys, and indicators never hurt Mr duck.

Saw the trailer and to be honest, I find the whole inclusion of weather/effects to be unnecessary especially since weather have no affect on a car performance other than tire traction.

Now if this were a flight sim like game Aero Elite Combat Academy, Falcon 4.0 or Microsoft Flight Simulator I could understand the inclusion of weather effects(as those games already use varying weather systems) since it actually affects a aircrafts performace may it be landing, taking-off, aerial combat(severe weather can blind a missile from hitting its intended target), etc, however since this has to do with cars the inclsuion of weather effect was just unnecessary.

In the end all this trailer tells me is what PD was wasting time adding a pointless feature for no reason.

You are right, this is why the Redbull Aircraft is in the game.

right, so the only way weather affects cars is the contact with the ground..

THAT IS A PRETTY BIG THING

terminator363,

why do you think those are standard cars on the third video, around 0:50 ~ 0:53? I don't believe they're standard. You can see premium cars behind that NSX. So, unless there are premium and standard cars racing together, the NSX must be premium, too.

The blue and silver car in front of the NSX that passes just in front of it for a split second looks like a standard to me...you can see the tinted windows in comparison to the NSX.

Thanks for pointing it out! :) 👍 That was my point

Nah theyre dark, not blacked out like the Standards, if you pause at the right moment you can see the RHD drivers helmet and part of the roll cage. :) Premium 100%.

Those are premium cars.

The windows are quite dark but don't forget that having dark windows don't make a car standard. All standard cars have dark windows but not all cars with dark windows are standard.

This makes no sense... Racing in the rain is going to affect your cars performance and also affect your performance as a driver... What makes it a waste of time? It is a feature that is desired by a majority of GTplanet users. It is a feature that affects the driveability and in turn changes the whole dynamics and physics of a race, its not just a visual...

Standard cars do not have blacked out windows, just dark ones. I also thought that the clip in question featured a standard car but w can't be sure until we see some release build footage of a standard car rather than the older video of them we have already.

i dont know if it is a good thing or a bad thing that we cant tell apart standard from premium

I would look at that as a good thing... but the whole standrd/premium thing is really the only bad thing anybody can say about the game...

If that is true, we will be having premium and standard cars racing together. So, premium cars will be totally damaged in the race, whereas standard ones won't (they will be, but on a smaller scale at least).

I'm fine with that because at least they're damaged the same internally.

Few questions about weather...

A) So I wonder if the game is going to stop you entering an endurance event unless you have inters and wets, alongside your slicks... or at the very least wets... ???

Or?

1) will it let you live with your mistake and if you don't have 'em make you purchase them if you need them... what happens if you don't have the $$$$ at the time? Overdraft?

2) let you live with your mistake but make you suffer if it rains...

B) Another thing, it may just be slight drizzle, slicks are still good but are inters better?

1) Is their way way to find out?

2) Does the game let you know by your team manager saying "#22 has pitted and put on inters and 3 secs quicker in first sector and 5 in second"?

3) Pure guess work?

C) Can it rain on one part of the course but not the others? Nurb', Le Mans, (Spa poss.) are pretty big courses. Different intensity on different parts?

D) Some kind of 'rain radar' feature? You know like you see the F1 Teams have currently. Enable you to guessimate/calculate where it will hit and when?

Think that's all that I had, for now...

Freaking amazing effects. Can. Not. Wait.

I don't see why standard and premium models wont be able to race together, the only things that i can recall that are different between the two is the standard cars wont have a modeled interior, will only have low beam headlights and some things with damage will be different

I was watching the weather effects on youtube, the other day. And I noticed in the raining Eiger nordward part,I can't see any rain splatters on the maserati...

Any ideas?

Theres no rain splatters on any car, except in cockpit view,
Check the high quality pics on the news page, the cars aren't wet at all.

i think it is time we really get to see some standard cars gameplay, because at the end of the day, they make up the bulk of the game

yah that would definately be a good thing. I hope there is not to much of a difference between standard and premiem cars. Besides the premiem ones are going to be the ones to race with the most anywayz.
