Headphones? Turtle Beach? A40s?

^^^Yeah good recommendations. I would however ask people to at least try the A40 headsets. They are the most comfortable headset I've worn and I've owned many headsets in my 43 years. They also have a redesigned driver for 2012. Give them a shot, if you don't like it return them but I'm betting you will. The wireless mixamp is awesome.

I have used headphones for gaming for a while, and I'm pretty active on head-fi forums :P

For consoles the best would be:

Cheap alternative for PS3 only: Sony wireless headset (7.1 dolby headphones)

Cheap for all consoles: Tritton AX720.

Best all-rounder for consoles (IMHO): MixAmp + PC360

MixAmp pro (wired) or MixAmp 5.8 (wireless)

For PC any decent soundcard that was has THX TruStudio or CMSS-3D

Now, if you want headphones and no headsets, there are MANY options such as Sennheiser, AKG, Grado, Creative, Ultrasone...

Totally agree, only downside with the PC360 is that they are open I E not high WAF. The PC-350 can be an option but requires some modding.

Well, PC350 are closed, but are not that good for the price.

Something cheap like Creative Aurvana Live or Koss Pro DJ100 sound fine too.

For immersion (and music) also DT990 600 Ohmsare GREAT

I have heard A30, and are pretty good.

For gaming (and music) I still prefer to use AKG Q701 (multiplayer) or DT990/600 (single player / immersion).

I think A40/A30 are also a good price/benefit if you mainly play on consoles.

I play on PC and also use them for music. Great pair of cans and system.
