Helmets/suits, it's frightening how many there are

So my obsessive compulsive side is getting a run for its money right now with all these new helmets and suits. I just looked at mygranturismo.net, and it looks like there are at least 23 variations and 30 colors each on helmets alone. That is about 690 helmets!! Jeez, I only have like 68, lol.

It looks like they put a lot of effort into this part of the update and quite frankly it has been growing on me. Tell me, what do you guys think about them and is your obsessive side coming out too to collect them all like Pokemon? LOL
 
Yep.... lots and lots of suits and helmets. I'm so glad they put a lot of effort into those, no sense wasting effort trying to fix problems or initiate some features that would actually add to the game..... Way to go PD. 👍
 
Realistically speaking... if PD is/was willing to go through and model these helmets and suits in HD, I'd have to say that there MIGHT actually be a possibility that they'll release more cars.

I've always been vehemently against them doing that (no... I'm doubting that they WILL do it, I would LOVE for them to do it though) but I dunno now... maybe it IS possible that they'll release some new cars or at least some liveries...

I doubt it, this was probably a feature that was 90% done but missed release!

Why not? I look at the driver's suit, helmet, shoes, and gloves. :) What is wrong with a feature that adds a sense of individuality.

Nothing but expanding A-spec is more important. It is a priority issue.

That is a fair assessment. Either way... I'm not that into adding more cars. I'm in the fix the crap thats broken school of though.

Yes this for sure. Fix the God awful shadows and make better looking standards is all I want. Oh an A-Spec II mode wouldn't hurt either.:sly:
 
Not their best work....Helmets ans suits are pretty useless to the game. Waiting for the good stuff to come..... more tracks/events.

Hey maybe they'll let us Put one of our "Bobs" in the passenger side for next patch!!👎

Well... if there's ever a Kubelwagen race organized online, I know I'll be thinking about my suit. :D
Otherwise, no it's not a huge deal to me personally.

But obviously lots of people think it's interesting. Just like some people could care less about painting their cars.
Some people think kei cars or the antiques are "useless". I've seen many posts on this forum with people saying "get rid of them". Yet I would NOT like that. I have had some of the best fun online races with kei cars & antiques!!

I think GT5 wouldn't be able to do what it does at all... if it wasn't so popular, and it's so popular because it can appeal to a variety of people in a variety of ways.

And honestly... While I too would like to see some fixes & improvements to the game... I HIGHLY doubt that you could expect them to make major game reconstructions in the amount of time/effort they probably spent on the suits. (Which I doubt was much.)
It's like saying, hey, why didn't that guy restore his antique this afternoon instead of changing the oil on his commuter car? Or why didn't your wife cook an 8 course dinner last Friday after getting home from work 6pm, instead of ordering pizza?

Helmets and suits are pretty cool. Either they'll get to the stuff some people needs to be changed, or they won't.

Helmets and suits are good. The gloves matter to me the most because they're visible when in cockpit view. But that's just me.
 
How do you win these helmets and suits if you've already done all the races?
Just do them again or are they online prizes?

Only once from the races you've got them from. Online prizes supposedly, but I'm not sure how.


I hope I'm not wrong. Correct me if I am.

Since you can dupe with your free Playstation Plus account and there is no limit, getting all the suits is fun thing to collect. We all had different expectations of the update, I never would have guessed suits/helmets but I don't see how it's a bad thing.
 
Thank you Another Jakhole (I was looking in the items.) I was sick of looking at the same gloves!(cockpit view)
 
I think is was waste of time for PD to make these new items....:grumpy: :yuck:

I would have been much happier with some new Race Modifications for a few Premium cars....
 
I don't think its a bad thing, but like someone posted earlier, 690 helmets??? It's good for the "collectors" but for the people who really just want to get some good cars and race more than collect (like myself) it seems pointless to include that many when there are so many blatant things that should be corrected first.

In short, meh.

If you were on my friend list (as an example), you'd see my driver every time you saw me listed among your GT friends because my driver and his suit/helmet are my GT5 profile picture. If I watch replays, aside from the fact that you can make him out through the windows of my car, there's an in-car view that focuses on the driver with the "camera" looking in from roughly where the side mirror would be. You can also see him through the windows in my photos.

Besides, it gives the player a little bit of personalization in the game. I personally welcomed the opportunity to personalize my driver.

Haaa people are moaning because there something new? To be honest be greatful anyway they done some improvements. The seasonal events have tripled and online dealership have reduced the cost by half i think.

They will sooner or later put more cars and tracks into the game but remember it takes alot of time to do so. Patience is every thing.

This is exactly how I feel to a tee. I am anxious what will be added even one year from now. I have high hopes left for GT5 and I think Kaz and PD have many more interesting things to implement.
