Hello, i used to own GT3 and a PS2 but both were stolen last year and since then i have a x-box. (not really my point....) I heard about this "hybrid" thing from a car forum i belong to and was wondering what all i would need to purchase in order to do some of these. GT3 was my fav. game when i had the PS2 so im a little familiar with it. (And i know i will need to buy another PS2, GT3 (a-spec), but what else do i need? Thank you for any help.

p.s. Or would i just be better off waiting till GT4 comes out and buying everything then? (Im really out of the loop on PS info since i dont own one anymore.):banghead:

Since you'll have to buy a PS2 ANYWAY for GT4 - best guess release date I've got is Europe on 26th December (possibly a worldwide simultaneous release), I'd see if you can pick up a cheapo pre-owned copy of GT3 from somewhere.

After that you'll need a "Sharkport" - also known as an X-port (the terms are interchangeable, don't fret). These are about half the price of memory cards and allow you to backup a memory card to your computer's HDD - you still need at least ONE memory card. These are kind of tricky to find - and if you were in the EU, I'd be better placed to help you.

The programme you use to mess about with the garage files once they're on the computer is mk's GT3gEdit programme (currently v38 - probably the final version). You can download this from the link in Heydu's signature. I'll add it to my own site soon too.

The guide to mk's/hybrids with Xport can be found in MY signature. Any extra questions feel free to ask.

Happy hybriding :D

You can find an X-Port at Best Buy.

They cost $30.

Also you would need a Ps2 $179.99

2 year warranty(if you want it) $24.99

Memory Card $24.99

Gran Turismo 3 $19.99

All prices from Best Buy

You could also possibly buy all that at Gamestop, Walmart and the like
