TankSpankerthat's pretty vague![]()
you cant get something for nothing
useful answers require informative queries, keep that in mind
anyways, i'll do what i can for you with that limited info
the biggest thing in executing a successful drift, is just having the proper line, entering too early or two late with the wrong amount fo rotation or too much speed will invariably lead to an off-track excursion, or a date with the tire barriers.
Also, since I'm not sure what you're using for a car, I'll suggest that you use an FR with around 250-300hp on simulation tires. The (possibly) lower hp will obviously cause you to go slower, so the proper entry point is easier to find. I reason this because the track will be passing you by less quickly.
Past that, its all about balancing your throttle and countersteering, but we'll worry about that later.
If, after those couple suggestons, you still experience problems, try cutting the speed even more until you get the knack. And PRACTICE!
Another useful hint is to use the SEARCH button. I know this topic has been covered numerous times.
For now, I think that's all I can suggest. If you were to provide more information you would likely recieve more useful instruction. Maybe tell us if its your tail snapping out and pulling you off track, or if you're understeering into walls, or simply running out of track before the exit, etc. Tell us exactly what you're experiencing. Something about the car you're usig would be nice too![]()
Even better would be if you can capture a video of your drifting (wmv format from capture card, .max or .xps from maxdrive or xport - whatever)
like i said, you posed a very vaguely structured question, so the best i can give is a over-generalized and foggy answer
greddy240sxsebesides crackin on me for doing this for the first time thanks for the help i use a nisaan 240sx typex(j). The thing that keeps on happening is that the front of the car wont stick no matter how much i countersteer or give it throttle. But i will try what u said before posting anymore info thanks again and im not dunce just new to this whole posting thing
Thanks that did fix the problem my back was swinging me into the wall lowering the horsepower let me get more control over the drift and intiate it better than before. Once again thank you for your help.TankSpankerhehe, calm down, it wasnt meant to be taken too personally. Was just trying to squeeze some more detailed info out of you
it sure sounds like you're just carrying a bit too much speed - to me at least.
But from that i still cant definitively conclude if you're spinning off backwards into walls, or if you're unable to initiate drift occasionally and are understeering off.
You could try running the car with slightly more front camber, softer stabilizer, and maybe softer bound and stiffer rebound to try and build some grip up there. This shouldnt be required though. The 240 is a decent drifter straight from the dealer.
Playing around until you find the right line and entry speed is likely the solution.
nightkids4everIs there a right way to do a drift? O-0
I can make some...greddy240sxseI guess not. Hey arent u one of the supposed DRIFT GODS? And you dont have settings for the 240sx typex(j)

RX-7_FC_DrIfteRFor that it depends on the corner and what technique your using...
greddy240sxseI was just watching your first video and the way you enter drifts is is really good. I want to know how you enter your drifts meaning where on the turn do you start how high on the track you are the average speed and throttle control and oh yea dont forget steering. Im really trying to get serious about this and you seem like the perfect person to ask. Plus im a newbie![]()
ncdrifterdrift gods haha...catch my drift is one for sure
