Get a new car and if you want something to rice, save yourself and don't make it a Civic.

my teacher has a civic and everyone in my class (almost) thinks it's the best car in the world but then again i try to explain skylines, silvias, even ae86s could beat it and they still praise civic

If the car is okay, why void the warranty?
Bank the 7,000 and let it draw interest.
Or send it to me for guitar purchases.

Seriously, you can buy some serious I.C.E. with 7 grand.
If the car has a CD player already, bank the cash.
It may come in handy for something else important.
Plus, if it is in some way "invested" it won't be "burning a hole in your pocket".

WORD! He should sell the Civic and get an '86 Corolla. That wouldn't get him laughed at. Or maybe he should stroll down to the Nissan dealership and buy a Silvia or a Skyline???

Seriously, do as Gil said and put the money away. Or, put most of it away and buy a nice head unit and maybe some speakers if music is your thing. If you really want to race, try some bracket racing at your local drag strip (the real one, not the one in the industrial park).

If he really wants to impress people, he should get an awesome sound system. A good exhaust and chip wont void a warranty either (most of the time). But IMO unless it's an Si, there is no reason to try and make a civic go fast.
