Hey guys,

I am fairly new to Gtplanet but have been an avid GT player for years. I have used the standard PS3 control for years, but am now at the stage that I feel it's holding me back a little. I'm not trying to be big headed, as GT is a great sim, but I am struggling to get the same level of steering control as people with steering wheels. Is it worth getting a steering wheel? And if so, what is best to go for, say £200? (approx $300/280 euro) Also, am I going to be able to use it on the ps4 when GT7 comes out? (Don't have a PS4 yet, but plan on it before GT7 comes out)
While I'm posting, I am looking for some good racing online. Am sick of racing road cars on RS tyres. Give me a challenge please! Thanks. :)

I would say that it would be worth waiting a bit. Right now, as far as I know, most of the cheap-ish steering wheels for PS3 are not compatible for PS4 consoles. Meaning once the PS3 dies out, and, say GTS/GT7 are released, you are going to need to buy a new wheel to play those games with. :)

Thanks for getting back man, much appreciated! :) that's what I thought myself to be honest. Have been looking at the Logitec wheels, but think I might wait for GT7 to be honest. But if you fancy a race in the meantime, be sure to hit me up on the PSN. :)

No problem mate! Unfortunately, my PS3 is somewhat broken at the moment, so I haven't used it in ages, so I probably wont be able to race. Thanks for the offer though!

The Thrustmaster T150 is a new wheel which is PS3 and PS4 compatible. I haven't got one myself (I have a T500), but I have a friend who recently got one and he is very happy with it (@Flaco13 maybe you could comment or add your thoughts).

Regarding racing, my current series is full and all the reserve slots are taken, but if you look through the online racing section and the clubs section there are great race series to suit every taste.

The video from Inside SimRacing pretty much covers it all.

What remains to be seen is the reliability on a long term. But Thrustmaster seems to get better in that regard.

Its probably the best starter wheel currently on the market. Very recommendable.
