Help with a story.

My father told me of an incident that happened many years ago.

As best he can remember, 30 or more years ago, a man in South America shot a Jaguar somewhere in its back region and strangled it.

Does anyone know anymore about this?

Never heard about it, although I'm sure many Jaguars have been shot...not sure about the strangled part.

According to this, a lonely man killing a jaguar 30 years ago was not news. It seems it was something that people were accustomed to it.

i don't know. i just know what my father could remember. he thinks it happened 30 or more years ago in south america. someone shot a jaguar in the spine, hip, or wherever, point is the rear legs were not able to disembowl, so the cat was not able to fend off the man. it could be he was a hunter of jags. he might have been hunting another animal and was attacked by a jag. the jag might have jumped down from a tree, or ran at him from behind, or head on. i don't know.
