Help with DFGT wheel

Hi,

Is it my driving or is it the setup on my wheel. I am all over the place when driving and I am unable to make the tight turns required (Shanghai and some Desert hot lap challenge in level 9.

I used other setups displayed here, but what should I do to adjust the turning function? Its probably a really simple solution, but this is my first wheel, and just got it.

try turning steering rotation to 460 and go from there , try different rotation settings down to 300 , i have steering sensitivity at 60% , and speed sensitivity at 0% but these settings are all very subjective ,and what works for one will not work for another , for tight tracks turn up the car steering in the tuning section , and mess with the quick tuning options as well .
Also make sure you have a reasonable overall tune on your car , it can make all differance

Steering Sens 50%
Throttle DZ 0%
Throttle SN 50%
Brake DZ 0%
Brake Sens 35%
Clutch DZ 0%
Clutch Sens 50%

Drift Speed Sens 0%
STEERING LOCK 360
Drift Steering lk 900

So, what you're saying is to increase the Steering Lock? I don't think that I fully understand the settings, but if I were to increase the Steering Lock, would that mean that I would have to turn the wheel MORE revolutions in order to make tight turns?

I would think that increasing would have the OPPOSITE effect, and it would be even harder to make those turns. Right?

Like I said, I am not sure what effect each settings does towards gameplay. I do know that I "drive" better with the DS3 because I was able to complete the time attack events that had the really sharp turns. But, I just spent A LOT of cash on a wheel, and DAMMIT, I'm going to use it!!!

i've just tried your settings and they are ok , you probably need to go into the tune for your car , and adjust the steering ratio in there , if you increase it , it will help with tighter circuits , you can also adjust the steering in the quick tune options , to acess the quick tune option press square while in the car tuning menu .
As i said earlier , you must also make sure your tune is reasonable , get a tune for your car from T12's tuning post , and if necessary tweak it to your taste .
 
You will improve with the wheel if you give it enough time , its quite a steep learning curve , but i'm sure you'll manage , i use the same wheel and i couldn't go back to a controller now .
Having said that , i know someone who uses a ds3 and is super quick (mentioning no names) Texastyme they call him .And he'll be whipping our arses again tonight on the Legends Series :lol::lol:

I think you're right with the cars steering ratio. I'll adjust it.
T-12 has done my tunes, too. I would be lost without him.
 
I had the same issue. When I got S2 I then got a DFGT. Took over a week to get use to it. Finally got some settings I like, although it is different for everyone.

Mine are exactally like yours exept for the Steering lock on wheel that is at 370.

Cars steering lock in the tuning menu on my cars are 19-22. I can make all the hairpins, and still have decent control. Its odd but even a small adjustment... say moving a car steering lock from 20 to 21 makes a huge difference. Mess around in the tuning menus. You will find whats comfortable for each car.
