Outside of transmission, that Subaru is no doubt a great buy. Haggle at least 1500-2000 off of it, and I'd buy it.

If i got a subie i'd get a wagon, Impreza or Forrester. Only problem is if i put it in my garage next to my evo i'd be awoken by loud noises to find both cars smashed and parts littering the floor from the fight they had lol

Not on my watch! Those two cars would team up and beat down jocks in their V8s.:sly:

ON principle, nothing at all.
But for the most possible performance out of most smaller engines (2.5 liter and below), particularly of the turbocharged persuasion, a manual transmission allows a driver to keep the car in the rev range where performance occurs.

This also applies to the Honda S2000 that really prefers to be in the upper reaches of the rev range to REALLY perform.
 
I'm a sorry for taking away from the original post! But no flaming chicken no Mullet! And my car has 53k on it so it's still a baby! And thanks for the advice for Swype!
What about a supra? There really quick but there a lil pricey to maintain

I've been in similar buying situtions before with your criteria. Buying BMW/Merc was ruled out as at that price it's gonna be an older car-stuff's going to break and it ain't cheap. I love older M3's.

But that isn't really true for the E36 M3's at this point in time. Maybe if you only buy parts from a dealership, but there are enough companies making OEM equivalent parts that it just isn't an issue. Honestly, cheaper to get suspension parts for than when I had to replace stuff on my old Civic hatch.
 
What about the BMW z4? Fast but kinda ugly in my eyes, but handling is great.
What are you looking for American muscle UK handling and craftsmen ship? A sports car or what there's a whole lot of nice cars for 15k that you don't have to put parts it right away!
 
Most of the Z4's on Ebay are over $20,000. I'm sure you could get one for $15K, but it probably wouldn't be worth it. Too new of a car.

Oh how bout the Nissan Sentra type r spec v my buddy had one really quick 4door trunk cheap to insure! He put a bunch of work into it for not much $. there's also the cobalt ss and the neon srt in the same insurance class and power/price range

Why would anyone want a 2.5i Z4? Slow. A car for a wife, basically.

And there isn't a Sentra Type R, it is the Sentra SE-R Spec V, which isn't a bad car but better things can certainly be had for the budget given. Much better things with far more positional.
 
The handling is nice on z4 and he saying he wants lower insurance. Yea the s e r I haven't talked about that car in forever! We hit 149mph in it didn't take to long to get there either. He also addsmoked a older 5.0 mustang wasn't even close. Not bad for a 4banger

umm....my garage contains an 06' evo mr ed, a 69'chevelle, an incomplete C.A.V. 66' GT-40 replica and an 04' ranger fx4 level 2. so there is 2 v8s playing nice with my evo
 
Really a r8? there's 2 people that own them around me a grey and a black one. Haven't seen them long enough to see what model. But I see one of them at least once a week. Never parked sadly. My boss is friends with a guy who has a baby lambo and 98 viper get to see them all the time, and got to sit in the viper. That was my dream car when I was a kid! Don't like the newer style to square! Except the ACR omg that is perfect
 
I like the Mazdaspeed 3 suggestion. They're great cars, reliable, handle well, and are practical. When I was car shopping for my last car back in '09, I looked at an '08 MS3 with only 8000mi on it for 18k, and that was at Carmax. I bet by now you could find a reasonably low mileage one within the budget.

What about a non-M BMW? The E46 330s are still reasonably powerful and they should be in budget. Same for an E39 5-series.

I don't recommend a WRX. They're relatively easy to mess up, and most of them have been owned by people who've raced them. A new one, sure, but I wouldn't buy another used one.
 
I drive my girls Saturn like a race car but for the most part I baby my ws6. Unless of course there's a worthy adversary at the red light next to me.
 
Na I I don't race civics! Lol. But how many of you have a fast car? Is it me or does everyone.and there grandmother try and race you at a red light? I'm not Gona beat my car till death I love it to much! Haven't even done a donut yet. But I will flex the muscle when a actual competitor pull up next to me. I got smoked by a older sti the other day. It was sick blue with orange wheels tear graphics real loud blow off it was like a 98. he got me by a good 2 car lengths by the time I got to 70 so I just let off. Not tryn to go to jail.
Oh on topic how about a wrx? Right price real fun 4 door 4cl 4wd! I think that's Gona be the next car I buy my girl.
