I have an acer Aspire 5252 and something weird happens when you have headphones plugged in. Audio comes out of only the right unless you twist the headphones just right and push the jack down, then both work. The problem isn't had when it is coming through the built in speakers though. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the headphone jack is loose and/or has loose solder contacts on the motherboard. A simple and cheap way to fix this is to get a usb sound card and plug the headphones in that. Otherwise you can hire a IT Repair company to replace the connector.

The jack is pushed in all the way and is clean?

Stereo jacks have two rings, one for left and one for right. If it's not in all the way only one else side will work. If the jack is dirty, it won't make a clean connection and only one side will work.

Edit: one other possibility is a wire could be broken. When you let go of the jack do both sides still work?

As far as I know yes it is clean and pushed in all the way. When I let go, it usually goes back to 1 unless it is a blue moon on Friday the 13th on a leap year. That is to say, not often
