help with save game files

1stly how do you back them up?

and can anyone talk me through getting a save game file to work as i really dont have the time to grind....

On pc now, -yea im sorry about that, when i created a thread it said ive done it twice but then i went back to the 'Gran Turismo 5: Prologue' thread and it wasnt there, so i created that other new one.

You might want to read through that stickied thread up at the top that says Read This: Save Game Downloads, which not only gives you links to a number of download files, but ALSO gives directions on how to use them.

i did have a quick read of that thread and found out by trial and error that i needed to create a folder on my USB stick 'PS3' then in that a folder called 'SAVEDATA' then in that have the save..

not all that clear if im being honest but ive sorted it either way.

I'm glad you have it sorted, but I fail to understand how you can say that you found out by "trial and error" when the very first post in the thread says this:

In order to use the files you need to click on the link for your particular type of file (JPN = Japan, USA = North America, PAL = Everywhere else, with a few exceptions; BD = BluRay Disc, DL = Download) and extract the files to a removable storage device readable by the PS3 (USB pen drive, SD card). The files need to be extracted to look like this:

[file tree picture removed]

And then copied into the a /PS3/SAVEDATA folder in the device's root directory (the first window when you double-click on the device). Transfer the device to the PS3, turn it on, go to the device folder and triangle to copy the gamesave to the PS3.

That pretty clearly tells you precisely what you need to do, and where exactly to put the file, including the exact name of the folders required.

then i would of clicked straight away, might of been my brain not working at the time, i thought we had to connect the PS3 to the computer for 5 mins while reading through. lol

Just jam the usb drive into the ps3 and copy your save file over then save on PC. Then delete the save file from the usb drive and import your new downloaded save file into /PS3/SAVEDATA. Make sure you copy the folder that holds the save file over too.

I usually select remember me when I log in.
