Help with 'The Driver' mission needed...

I'm not up to it yet, but in a previous save I had to cheat to beat this mission. Are there any strategies as to beating this mission without cheating?

Drive faster than the other guy. Simple as that. There's some tips around suggesting you punt him, but it is hard - you'll need to run it perfectly.

Damn. It's hard with a cop cars ramming you all over the place - thanks to the damn 2-star wanted level. I've gotten out in fornt of him, only to have my car burst into a fireball by the cops. By the time I find another car, that damn bulletproof Sabre Turbo has gone past me.

stick to the pavements worked for me. just plough through everything, exept lamposts

Just stay bhind him 'till the first major turn then plow into him pushing him past it. He will have to stop and turn around while you can just continue doing the course. Worked for me

Spin him out, thats what i did, never saw him again

yeah all you got to do if he keeps going in front of you is just keep rear-ending him and make him spin out.

I read a GameFAQs strategy, and they said some people parked a Hotring Racer at the first turn beforehand, then changed cars.

No, just use the normal car..it's very easy after a while to do.

That's basically how I did it. I parked a Comet at the first turn (near the bridge) and when I got there I just ditched my car and beat him using the Comet. I found that any time you lose changing cars is more than made up for by the speed and the handling of the Comet (or whatever car you choose, the Hotring racer is fast and handles good, it should work well too).

Yeah, but the only bad thing about the Hotring Racer is that it is like the Infernus - a few hits and it's a fireball. And with cops everlasting ramming you...

Just race! If you do it fast enough, you won't even go near a cop car at all...on my best run i don't think i saw one cop car ever in front of me...
