Does anybody have or know of a GameShark2 or Code Breaker code that will reset the total mileage to zero in simulation mode?
:banghead:

Search in the hybrid forum...I know that there is a way to do it if you have a sharkport/x-port.

When you get a car, the power goes up by 3% as it gets broken in, then it goes back down by 2% as the engine gets old. So, old cars actually have more power than new cars that aren't broen in.

If you're talking about prize cars (which start off broken in), after you've driven 378 miles, the power will never drop any further. Is it really that important? Even if you don't mind cheating, is it worth the bother of resetting your cars every 300 miles to get 2% more power?

No, it's not that at all. You know on the game stats section in your garage in simulation mode? It has the total of wins, losses, win percentage, total number of cars in garage, and the total mileage. Well, I just want to reset the mileage to zero, not my cars mileage.

Oh, well that's easy. You can just load up the save in GT3 Garage Editor and change the total miles.

But why do you want to do that? The total miles isn't accurate, anyway. I don't know where it comes from, but if you add up all the miles on all your cars, it's not very close to the total mileage shown on the status screen.

Sounds good, how do I do it? I want to reset it because I want it all to look new, like I just started out with all my cars! LOL!

Actually, I've never managed to actually get the 304Editing to work. True, it doesn't actually bother me and I didn't spend that much time trying...

Total mileage includes:
Race distance on sim cars.
Qualifying distance on sim cars (sometimes not included on total mileage of sim cars).
Distance on licence cars.
Distance on Time Attack/Time Trial cars.
Distance on Arcade Mode/Single Race cars.
(I think)...

I didn't ask what the total mileage was for, I want to know if there's a code out there to reset the total mileage to zero. Like the code to always keep it at day 1.

And the fact I wasn't answering you, but answering BBM directly, was why I quoted his message in mine...

Ahh, I didn't know that 304 Editing stuff didn't work. I've actually only ever used the garage editor to change car colors.

Check out this thread. I've got some screen-shots of how the Total Mileage in the Game Status screen is totally screwed up. I actually did all the license tests, all of Arcade Mode (including Time Trials), and won the PD Cup (with the free Viper, exiting after race 9), and my Total Mileage still said 0.0 miles.

I'm sure it MUST work, somehow. I just never figured it out as it never bothered me...

Perhaps I should e-mail mk? :D
