I just finished it... 1.07.892: 9 attempts, 13 minutes
For me, the key to all license tests was learning how to watch the demos. They always show gold times, so even getting close should get you a medal. I pretty much always check the demo 3 or 4 times before I even try once.
I use the cockpit view (I also race cockpit view), with all indicators showing. This helps to see how the car lines up when: braking, turning, accelerating. I also look for "milestones" (logos, trees, rumblestrip) that give me hints as to when to start/stop any of the 3.
But the key to this test (IA8) seemed to be pushing the speed limit while still staying in control of the turn. The SKYLINE will tend to spin out if you gun it too hard for the last few turns, so try to "goose" it, or be gentle when getting back on the gas. Watch the demo 1 or 2 times, look for the high/low speeds as the car makes each turn, and try to keep your speeds within that range. [edit] When making these turns, keep the previous tests in mind (A4, A5; the dry circle tests). Things might make more sense if you treat each turn as a successively smaller circle test.
For the final turns, the key for me was early braking, and patience. I was usually coming in too fast for the 2nd to last turn, getting me off angle for the final left. What's more, I would tend to try to compensate by gunning it out (to correct my bad angle), only to end up spinning out.
I couldn't get gold until I started braking earlier for the 2nd to last turn, and remembered to wait patiently until I was properly lined up to gun it for the finish line.
Good luck in getting it done! Just keep at it.
Have a great drive!
