fact that PD keeps tabs on us shows that our feedback is valued, and considering the responses we've gotten, they clearly listen. It's usually not on our schedule, but they do listen, and that's a heck of a lot more than I can say for other studios.

What have they listened to?
What shows that our feedback is valued?

Spending countless weeks/months accurately modeling Ronda just for 4 spots for photomode or mapping the star system and moon for a little mission.
Just what the community has been asking for and our top complaints isn't it!

As Jordan said in his own words only twice in all the years has PD actually made arrangements for interviews out of their own pockets!
And this is the biggest GT fansite in the world!

I love this game & site but open your eyes, they have had nigh on 10 years development time on PS3 for God sake, time shortages don't cut it anymore!

Well the first calls for improved AI that I remember were after the release of GT2, not sure if this site existed back then though, if so I wasn't a member. Pretty much every release since then PD has promised improved AI and usually delivered a only tiny tweak to the existing code. It is very easy to see the same old GT AI behaviour in most releases.

I just wish they really would listen! It needs rewriting from scratch, with a completely new mindset and modern techniques.

And, of course, I don't think the AI should ever lap as fast as a very good driver anyway, so the opportunity to skip qualifying and come from the back should still be there. As an example, let's say if the AI drives about as fast with 400 pp as a good driver does with 380-390 pp or a very fast (alien) driver does with 375 pp, there would still be enough leeway for a fast driver to come from the back if he so wishes. And if someone who isn't very good does not want to do qualifying, they can always save their time (and spend their money) by slicing through the field with a tuned or faster car.

This is kind of where a proper difficulty system comes into its own. You're an alien who wants a real challenge? Pick the alien-level AI pace. You're just starting out and learning to drive? Pick the novice-level AI pace.

Kazunori simply deflects most questions about features which they aren't ready to discuss yet, or gives vague answers about why things are the way they are. He also does not live in a bubble, and I've been told on many occasions from many different people that he reads "everything" posted online about the games, along with everyone else involved with the GT's production. They are all acutely aware of the major criticisms.

If this is true ... ( and im not suggesting for one minute that your not being truthful Jordan ) I feel even more let down that they understand there are issues with the game that need to be addressed... and so they are making a conscious decision to ignore highlighted faults and requests from people ( not just for a week or two .. but for many years ) who at the end of the day in a small way individually, and a larger way as a community ... help to pay for PD's existence..

That to me is arrogant & a quite rude..

I have one example...

Special stage R11..

Ever since It has been taken from GT .. for years people have discussed it and there are many threads and discussions for this one track alone.

There are no license issue's and no hurdles in the way of PD putting this track back in .. even as a thank you to the community who pay them.

So why do they still ignore it...

PD are slowly slipping from the pedestal.. with the arrogance that GT is the best and they can rest on their laurels.

Well PD & Kaz .. if you do read these posts.. and do care about your community, start acting like it .. or in the not to distant future .. it will slip away from you.. when people who have had enough move on to the next big thing .. and rest assured titles like Project cars and Race club are just around the corner.

@bjosim - Jordan does ask these types of questions. In a recent interview he asked why certain aids are forced on for some events. However, Kazunori answered like a typical politician would & said absolutely nothing though answering with many words.

See the last question here.

Just re-read what he actually replies with - it's utter nonsense.

GT1 and user friendly? As great a pioneer it was - user friendly isn't even applicable compared to the majority of modern games with tutorials.

Why didn't he just say the real answer? "Well, I just want to sell more copies - and because the casual gamer far outnumbers the hardcore, we make sure we force aids on in license tests so the majority can gold the event and pretend to be the best driver".

To be fair, I'm glad the license tests are easier to gold. They were ridiculously hard in GT5 and I'm a seasoned GT gamer who's a darn good driver. I'm not saying I'm the best in the world but neither would I describe myself as a 'casual' racing or car fan. I remember the Nordschleife time trials on special events with the SLS- I could get silver but gold was an absolute stretch.

Well: expect to get -almost- all theold tracks everybody wants later... through DLC. Why would you give a track for free, when you know people are ready to pay for it? Seattle? Special Stage R11, Paris,... They are probably coming as they are the easiest to earnb money AND to please fans.

Cynical. But wait and see...

I'm far from amazing but I golded all GT5 tests pretty easily with a wheel. The X1 challenges were a different story but still - GT is getting easier over time. :(

Yeah that still doesn't explain why SRF is permanently forced on, instead of defaulted on -with simple option to click it and turn it off. Interesting point though- does Kaz want all GTplayers to pretend to be great drivers, or does he want us to actually become better drivers? I'd assume the latter, but forced SRF is damaging to my assumption..

Also, @SPORTVAN please don't make your important point while using a single track as an example. Having every track in GT's history isn't going to do us any good if the "races" continue in the same boring fashion. You know? What good is that deadly chicane at SSR11 if you just get brake-checked coming out of it?

:)
