I questioned my decision for peach while I was writing it...

1 year, precisely. 6 months later and shes already texting me again. LOL.

Same with me... we're best friends (friends with benefits actually; *wink *wink)

^Good luck mate.

Today- Realised that school will be legendary. Im busy with things I enjoy, instead of Football(The American sort). It's quite nice, but I still miss it a bit.

Today, in the hall, Im rocking my McLaren-Mercedes hat;
Admin "Mr. West, take off the hat"

"Really? REALLY? It has a British Flag on the back, and sponsors a company, which does not exist in the United States (Vodafone). It isn't a gang thing, I assure you I'm the only one in town, much less this school, who has anything of the sort"

Admin "It's bright red. You could be signifying yourself as a gang"

"Yeah, I'm a blood. Because this is freaking Oakland. Oh wait...
And a gang, really? I'm an accomplished AP student. I didnt get there off drug money..."

Admin:"...."

"Fine. I'll take it off"

More on our school's "Not hats ever, I dont care if its snowing" rule coming in December.

Just another way to make our lives harder as students. I'm tired of these 🤬 stereotypes. I'm tired of being 🤬 around with like have no importance because apparently we're in gangs loitering around the streets with no life. Just... JUST MAKE IT 🤬 STOP!!

Never really understood the whole not wearing hats thing, makes no sense to me.

The geniuses in the Inner-City schools are to blame. When they found that you rep your set with hats, they decided that a blanket edict would suffice.

Okay, since 8th grade will be a massive bore judging by what happened today, any of you have some tips for my freshman year?

There's no inner-city in my area, really should only apply in certain areas.

Well don't do what I did, don't be all quiet and shy, no one seems to like that. Just be you I guess. I don't know, I've never been the popular one, I have a few friends and hang out in various circles (The smart people, the sports people, the normal people, the stoners, the I LOVE SCHOOL people..). Point is, not everyone is in the same group.

Our principle takes our hats off our heads. My convo word for word last year.

"Did you pay for that?"

"No, but you aren't allowed to wear it."

"Then who the hell gave you the right to take it from me? You don't own it, I do."

"But you can't wear it! Please don't talk to me like that."

"Ok, so how would you like it if I walked into you're room and took your computer?"

"You'd be stealing."

"And you're implying you aren't?"

"No, because it's the rules."

Our school has a strict no computer without authorisation which I knew she didn't have since she does whatever she wants anyway.

"Yeah, but it's also against the rules to use unauthorized computers."

"Who said it's unauthorized?"

"Theres no sticker with it's #. Look lady I'm not stupid".

"I can suspend you for having that attitude."

"Go for it, I don't give a ****!"

"....."

Proceded to snatch my hat back and walk away.

ghs, get in a rolling garbage can (empty), have some one push you down the hallway while sprinting lol. Then let go XD

As I tell my students when they wear their hats in class, you're not going to get acute fluorescent poisoning, so there is no need to wear your hats indoors.

That's nothing to be proud of.

Unfortunately it wasn't until recently I figured that out. Generally I'm well mannered and a well respected kid among the staff, having been selected several times to represent the school on certain occasions. I'm not exactly proud of my actions, but having realised this I can take further steps to correct the problem and become a better student and person.

In my instance, I was not indoors. When I step into class, I always take my hat off.

ghs- Just be relaxed. Have good posture.

No, I've had students who need to be reminded three or four times to remove their hats in class. And they frequently put their hats back on during the lesson because they've realised that they're not wearing the hat, and so automatically move to put it on.

I'm not sure most of them even realise what their hats are actually promoting, either. There's one or two that I've run into wearing LA Lakers caps, who have no idea who the LA Lakers actually are.

If I wear my hat even between the time I walk in the front door and I get to my locker, I get yelled at. Usually just a take off the hat please. I usually just pretend I can't hear whoever said it and walk away.

Most of the guys I chill with wear them all the time so they put them on without realising it.

Yesterday went ok. The new US history teacher seems pretty cool. He told us that he doesn't care if we listen to music when we do class work or chew gum. He is also one of my teachers that allow free seating. The only really annoying thing is that people in band have to walk 3-4 minutes to get to the band room that is in the middle school. The kids in the MS eat lunch outside at that time so at least we can torture them. Possibly the one thing that I think is really funny is that the new Spanish 2 teacher is the exact same teacher my sister had at a separate school 5 years ago.

You should've taken it. I DEFINITELY would take it was available.

Also, you are a genius Hawkeye. :p

Though I have no after school activities so why not, we already have 40 minutes after our periods to do homework.

Well this is annoying although partly my fault, I forgot to write down my English homework we had set for these holidays (6 weeks, 1 and a half weeks left) and the only person I found to ask was too busy getting hyped over Leeds Fest (music concert over yonder) to care :grumpy: And so far no one else knows...

Got my results today.

Computing and History A
Electronics and English B
Additional Maths (very very difficult and I wasn't focused on this as I will need to do almost the same topics next year.) C
Philosophy (type in UK A level marks 2012 into google news if you want the reason why this was low, no one in 3 class's in different schools I have spoken to has got above a C then they were predicted B's and A's.) D

Got my registration info in the mail today for school this year, got to go there on the 28th and pay the fees and get my schedule for this semester. I'm happy that this will be my final year of school in Blenheim.

Got my results today. After a long summer spent stressing over them it turned out I got 9 A/A*s, including an A in Maths and English Lit/Language, out of 16 total GCSE's and a Bacculaureate which is poitnless but still, chuffed with those results. :D

Those are excellent results, well done sir 👍 I'm afraid As is quite a bit harder than GCSE though, look forward to a steep curve.

Cheers, really bracing myself for Physics and Maths at A level. Only managed a B in physics at GCSE too. (In my defence I was 13 when I sat the exams !) :scared:

Hopefully History won't be too bad , I got full marks on two exams and had a quick look through the as level exam and it doesn't really look that bad. Maths on the other hand ...

Having done all of those subjects at As this year, I can give you some advice. History is reasonable as long as you can analyse properly in essays. Maths is for the first module, but C2 (If your school does MEI) is harder, as is S1. Physics is straight up hard, nothing you can do about it. Make sure you get mechanics, I didn't and ended up with a U in that module, and 1 mark off an A in Electrons, Waves and Photons. Shows what could have been :ouch:

Got an A in History, but C in maths and D in Physics :scared:
Got to apply yourself so much more than GCSE, it's a whole another level.
