I'm quite worried of what will happen to my classmates and I tomorrow. I feel like someone might act out because it's "the end of the world"

Lucky, mine starts tomorrow. I have a half day.

Now apparently, some gang is supposed to come into my school tomorrow. Doubt anything will happen still. Glad to know I live in such a nice area.

Today is the last day before winter break and the last day for finals. Except we got out first snow, and now it's cancelled. So I gotta take em next year... Oh joy.

So basically, our school once again held the annual "Volleyball Carneval" where the classes come in wearing unique costumes (such as pirates or hobos, you get the idea). Last year our class won all games except the grande finale against the teachers, but today we fixed things. Wearing baby costumes and playing Gangnam Style, we lost to one of the classes but still were the best class overall, and in the end, defeated the teachers and took the monkey off our backs.

So awesome. :dopey:

We've had that a couple times, the 'rival' schools waited outside and tried to start fights. Because Leeds is the epitome of class.

Apparently a school about 30 minutes from me has off tomorrow because of a bomb threat. My school called a while ago saying something about how there is more police there now and how the staff is all trained for an emergency situation...

More police? Why would there be police at a school on a normal day anyway?

Like my school, it is necessary for some high schools to have there own personal police officers. Bad neighborhood ya know? Mine has two, they are here all day.

My school's in a pretty good neighborhood, but occasionally you'll see an officer in an Impala idling in a coned off area of the parking lot. Sometimes I see female cops around the administrative building, but not regularly.

So the kid that was supposed to kill people today didn't show up (because of the cops), pretty fun day and we get out a hour early! There are 200 people absent in my grade (out of 500ish) so it's not crazy, and it's senior skip day!

Apparently they were supposed to come in because of some dumbass who threatened a counselor saying he had a gun and they were gonna set them straight or something.

Since that guy came in saying he had a gun there's been a LOT more police on school grounds.

Had a huge cookout, took home a load of cookies and a brand new 2 liter of Ginger Ale. Watched some trolling in BF3 and played some Iron Maiden tunes with a friend I'd never played with before, during Auto Tech. Was awesome being totally in sync with each other haha.

Heard something very troubling today in school.

I live in a very small school, about 100 students total. About 35 miles away is a huge high school full of about 2500 students. I heard from a friend today say that one of his cousins, who goes to the school, heard a couple of kids say (these kids are troubled: they're bullied, have no home lives, etc; ) that they would do something to the nearby school that "would rip Connecticut to shreds."

I say it's unlikely, since policemen patrol the doors to make sure nothing happens, but still, you have to be cautious.

Cops were everywhere because someone threatened to come to school "and shoot as many as possible" and anyone who talked about guns had to go to the principal's office.

Today was a really chill day. A lot of people were not here because of the reason above but people were giving gifts and having a nice time enjoying their time with friends before break started. Even I got a gift which I think was the best gift of all time, FOOD!!! Yes I really gave a wishlist to one of my friends and it said "Food". I'm glad she is a good cook or it would have been terrible.

This by far tops everything that happened. It's crazy how everyone in school was watching this:

By the way she said yes.

What is up with all the shooting threats? Surely it hasn't always been that bad? We've even had a few here in Indy, but to my knowledge, none at my school.

It's just the Americans having that problem from what I've seen, nobody even mentions guns here unless we're talking Battlefield of CoD.

In American society, when a troubled kid with nothing to lose sees a tragedy like that happen, may cause him/her to inspire to do something like that.

I've often said the most dangerous man in any society is the one who has nothing to lose. Mentally unstable kid with nothing to lose + Tragic Event + Inspiration = Terror Events.

On topic...

4 A's and 3 B's on Report Card. Not bad, since considering I somehow got an A- in Algebra.

My science teacher has finally left! :D She was just terrible, if she asked something and you said nothing she'd complain and tell you to say if you didn't understand something but if you did she'd say you should know about it and call you stupid. :grumpy:

^^I hate teachers like that. I once had a math teacher who would preach about the previous nights homework, go over it, and then get pissed when everyone failed it. Oh, we failed it because at that point the day before we only had literally 5 minutes to learn the new material because she did the same thing prior.

My 8th grade math teacher was like that. He was probably the worst teacher I ever had. But this year I'm going to a different school and all my teachers are really good

I guess I might be the lucky one when it comes to Maths teachers. I probably had the best Maths teacher in Yr 8, learned a lot in all of his lessons and they were actually quite chilled and fun. He also promised by the end of the year everyone would at least have a level 7 and even people who.... were not that bright got a level 7c. I got a level 8b by the way.

Woohoo! I'm on break!

Though on topic, the only bad teachers I've ever had were due to their negligence, them sincerely not caring about me enough to last-minute cancel plans to meet with my guardians.

Lately, I've had nothing but awesome teachers, and going into college in the winter quarter, I'm hoping that continues.

My worst teacher was in the 4th grade. I know it sounds off topic, but i almost failed the 4th grade because of her. She gave out way too much homework, and yelled at us randomly when we were quiet doing our work. She was the demon of the 4th grade.

Funny you should say that, my 3-4th grade teacher was prone to yelling rages that freaked everyone out in the classroom, regardless of if they actually were in trouble.

I remember distinctly one of her rages being that she went off the hook because some people were cutting ON the line, not OUTSIDE it.

I feel I should also mention that she didn't go to parents evening because she had a dentist appointment and didn't want to move it to the next day because she wouldn't be able to teach us. :grumpy:

Just got all of my holiday homework done. Was planning to do it yesterday, but I'm lazy. Only revision to do now, but I'm giving myself a holiday until after Christmas.

Hell starts back up Thursday here.

In my relationship news, I have come attracted to a girl from a nearby town. Currently, she has a boyfriend, but there's a twist: Her younger sister is also dating the older boyfriends younger BROTHER. Therefore, I hope that the younger couple break up first so that the collateral damage may lead to the older couple's (my age's) breakup, though it IS highly unlikely.

I obviously can't flirt with her now, but I'm hoping that Spring comes quicker, so I can get to know her better by mutual friend (my best girl friend is really good friends with the girl I like. She'll often invite us and others to a campfire when it's decently warm).
