Just had my Biology Unit 1 GCSE exam today. I was nervous walking into the exam hall but then I opened the paper and it was a breeze. Seriously, now I know what people mean when they say exams are too easy in this country.

I've got mine in March, as well as Chemistry 1 too. Thing is, as I was stuck in the hell of BTEC for the end of Year 9, I missed out all the Biology the GCSE class learned, so I'm going to have to learn basically a whole unit before March on my own. :indiff:

Had a History knowledge test today, I totally forgot to revise and got a C, being 3 marks off a B. The guy who sits in front of me, who just talks and talks and talks about Manchester City got an A. He was ill when we were told about it too before Christmas, so he didn't even know we had one.

I have a mock History exam and a mock Maths exam next week. I'm not feeling too bad about the History as I just have to write an essay, but I'm so bad at Maths and it's the non-calculator one. If I get a bad result on this one, I move into Foundation, and that means the highest I can get is a C.

I find SAMLearning.com helps for revision. I think the school have to set up account for you though. Maybe you can ask school council. Oh and tell the guy that talks about City to STFU and say that United are the better team by a mile :lol:

I'll take a look at that, maybe suggest setting up an account if needs be too.

I don't like football, but if I had to choose between City and United, I'd go for City. :p
 
We had Biology Keystones today. They were kind of hard, but like always, they don't count for my grade, so no big worry.

And United > City.

Had my English paper today which I couldn't have bombed worse if I had access to North Korea Military's nuclear war head stash, Section A was fine as it gives you articles and such to analyse but Section B which requires some creativity I flummoxed on. I hope for the higher paper in the summer there's some form of argument question I could get full marks, especially if it was about religion but going to a faith school, possibly not. :lol:

School seems so tough, but somehow my worst grade is a B+. I credit these grades purely to luck. Let's see how much they drop after finals.

I also think something bad is happening in band class. Nearly all of us percussionists are reaching the edge of tolerating band class. We are slowly angering our director and I feel like before the end of the school year there will be a big fight between the two groups. We've already made her mad at a concert, and we keep loosing our music, and she seemed quite angry today.
 
So I Dodged a bullet for the Algebra 1 Keystones and didn't have to take them because I passed it in 8th grade. So I just have to take the biology ones next week.

It annoys me how poorly explained our schedule for the test days were. I had no idea I didn't have to take it until I left the class. So I wasted three hours yesterday when I could've just gone to tech and finished my project.
 
With my physics test coming up on the 25th I would have assumed we would have been revising in class for it like every other test before hand but now we have a new teacher and oh no, he's decided to start the biology module already. :grumpy:
He actually started it last lesson but then decided it might help us if he finished the physics module first so we learned about the life cycle of a star today (pretty simple to me) and he gave us some reassurance by saying "Even I don't know how it works.". Cheers sir. :grumpy:

That is a bit like my sociology teacher last year. She said. Don't be nervous, Just think I failed sociology at university the first time I took it and had to retake it.

Great confidence there, not.

Oh that was the norm for our Italian subs, they would rope in the spare PE teachers, who were worse than useless.

Sat my AS level mechanics again today, and aced it :D four exams left in the next two weeks, then back to normal schooling again.
 
Didn't even make it a half hour today before I went home. Got the flu.


I would ahve stayed home to begin with, however the semester closes today and I had backwork due. Luckily for me, the teachers agreed to just give me what I had done and grade me based on that with nothing being marked down because I was sick =P



Unfortunately it delayed work on my caravan until Monday.

You can get a 5.0 if you take all A.P. classes at my school. I'm only in one.

That's pretty much the norm here. Also, we only have 1 Spanish teacher in the whole school and she is going off on maternity leave soon and no other teacher in the school can even understand Spanish let alone teach it.
 
We usually get useless subs in who know less Spanish or French than I do, they just give us sheets. Unfortunately for them we hate subs so we just talk to each other all lesson seeing as we're not going to learn anything new or even reaffirm our knowledge.

One of of our sub's for Italian realised this, so we ended up watching Black Hawk Down and Gladiator over some cover lessons. They don't really want to be there either.

We have a bunch of films and Blackadder and stuff to watch on the school system, so when there was cover it was fine. We even have one episode of Takeshi's Castle!
 
Oh we are compensated with the fact none of the school pc's have audio unless you play it through an interactive whiteboard, and Takeshi's Castle isn't the same without the sound :lol:
