Discussion for Hispania Racing Team's 2012 car. I'd say challenger but it won't be challenging for anything except 21st place.

Don't care when the official unveiling is, a spy picture exists so here we are.

Looks to have flat topped sidepods and not too much of a buldged ose.

That's the F111. They probably have a F111+ featuring a F111 with some 2012 spec parts onboard, but the F112 won't be here until the earliest Barcelona.

Yes they're running last years car at the first tests to test out the new rubber, also gives the team time to gain experience. They did the same last year

^Not really, HRT are not the only team to fail a crash test, its just that other teams are better prepared and so it doesn't damage their schedule as much as it does for HRT.
I feel more sorry for HRT that they continue to be considered the weakest F1 team when they have beaten Marussia/Virgin the past 2 years. To me thats a pretty big humiliation for a team that really should be ahead on experience alone, seeing as Marussia is basically the Manor team who have plenty of championship-winning experience.

Marussia also have not launched their 2012 car yet, but no one mentions that, people only talk about HRT. It would be nice to see people say positives rather than consistently focus on the negatives for this team, as there are positives...they are not the worst team ever to grace F1 at all.

What I really like about this team is that they help show how difficult F1 really is as well as their deterimination to make the grid and ability to actually do it and still not actually finish last. Reminds me a lot of the old small teams scraping their entries in the 90s and 80s, but always managing to stick around..except these days it is so expensive just to exist in F1.
In a lot of respects they are the new Super Aguri.

Hopefully this year they use a paint scheme that wasn't compiled from old MS Word clipart, it was a step forward from that 2010 horror (removing the white from it made it worse) but they must keep moving.

HRT's livery was hilariously generic.

The slogans that they put on their car due to the absence of sponsors were great.

I forget; did they use the slogans on the car all season or were they just for the pre-release render?

That's a nice looking paint job, I like it. As for the sponsor grab parts I can see the funny side to it lol. Nothing wrong with a bit of tongue in cheek humour to brighten up F1

Oh my goodness, they failed a crash test? Hang them!

In all seriousness, HRT failing a crash test really does not reflect very badly on them. A lot of teams have failed crash tests before, it really means little more than a small flaw in the car's design, not enough reinforcement, or both. They only failed the tests by small margins, so it may be as easy as some reinforcing of the monocoque.

Also, your opinion is your opinion, but their livery last year was actually pretty good. The "This could be you!", "This is a cool spot" and "Your ad here" seemed amateur, but it added some humour to the F1 mix, which os good considering how void of humour F1 is nowadays. And hey, they eventually got all those spots filled anyway, which is good!

Am I the only one who feels sorry for HRT?
They can't even pass the crash test.

...Ferrari failed their crash test first time around as well. I think one other team did too. If anyone should get a shoulder to cry on, it would be Virgin who couldn't figure out the step nose bit and will probably go a McLaren route.

i think this is the begining of the end for HRT

How so? Do you even know anything about the team

I think the criticism of HRT is more than valid, it's one thing if a well established team like Ferrari fails a crash test in December, it's a completely different story if a fairly new team with financial issues fails it less than a month before the season.

Saying that, I don't think they will have an issue getting to Australia, they may have a hard time staying in front of Marussia though.

but it added some humour to the F1 mix, which is good considering how void of humour F1 is nowadays.

I long for the days of the comedic era of F1.

Wasn't HRT the team that barely got their cars assembled for the first qualifying session in their debut season?

I think the criticism is somewhat justified.

i was thinking of the USF1 failure how they pushed back the debut and pushed back even farther until they folded but they did not have the luxury of having a pervous model
