Have had it for a while, wondering what you guys think.
My opinion:
Awesome for drifting in GT5
I use a dfgt usually, but I think its amazing.

I bought it, and tried for a while, but never got the hang of it, the DS3 felt better for me.
A couple of reasons for that, the accelerator(X) and brake(Square), are way to sensitive, and not very accurate, you push down half way and its 100%, i tried a couple of times, and the its not smooth. The same with the square button, i mean the L2 and R2 of the DS3 are more accurate. And even better is using R3(or L3 if left handed) as accelerator and brake.
The steering after a period gets worn, and my finger has slipped a couple of times, i need to wear gloves for it....and no! i don't eat chips while playing.
And in my opinion needs to have a bigger radius than 30 degrees.
The positioning of the two features(steering, Accelerator and breke) is very good, but thats all it has going for it.

I hade mine for about 5 months and I love it. My lap times have improved, my handling of the car improved. When you get used to the scroll wheel for steering, your movements will be more fluid ( like using a wheel ). It can be very tough at times but stick with it. Regarding the accelerator, and brake button. Put the controller in NFS mode and in the game settings switch the x with R2 and the square with L2. Buttons will become more accurate.

I bought one last summer. It seemed to work well in comparison to the standard controller that came with the PS3. Now as I press the throttle down slowly the meter that reads out the throttle percent may still move normally, but the feel is that the throttle spikes. I can get near an idle, then it jumps to what seems like full throttle. I can't control the higher powered cars anymore. Low powered cars are OK for throttle controll as they don't spin the wheels anyway.
The steering has also seemed to go from a smoothe linear feel to a digitized jump through only 4 positions (not really 4). It now feels like it is worn out and needs to be replaced. Not sure I'll do that again as I have a wheel for the serious driving. I only used the HKS controller for some quick casual seasonals. The wheel takes up space so it's set up, used, then disassembled and put away each time.

I'll admit that controller looks really nice, but I must stick with my DS3. Steering on left stick, throttle and brake on right stick, e-brake on R2

I thought of getting one of these Eagl3/HKS Racing Controllers, untill I checked the Product Sheet. 
First you'll notice you'll loose 2 buttons (2 way steering wheel vs. analog stick). On top of that you'll loose even more buttons (check the "Controller Left/Right" - switch on the back of the controller). That's reason enough for me to not get this Piece of Fail.
Instead of wasting your money on a product with less functions as a standard DS3 you should get a cheap wheel, f.e. the Logitech DFGT.
Or just remap your buttons on your DS3 (both analog sticks & L2/R2 are pressure sensitive, so use it for steering, accelerate & braking). Plus you have enough buttons left to use the RA-Menu on the D-Pad ingame, what you most likely can't do on the HKS Controller.

A controller with force feedback joysticks would be awesome for GT5.

One thing the controller is severely lacking is precision with throttle and braking. The buttons have a good amount of "throw", but only use about half of it. I doubt the company who makes this thing will come out with a firmware adjustment to make use of that throw.
If you really must get one of these do not pay full retail for it!

I had one of the hks controllers, and I got the best results if I set it to nfs, and remapped the gas/brake. I read that the buttons are only programmed to recognize a certain amount of travel, and the shoulder buttons recognize a lot more. Got a dfgt and gave the hks to a friend since, but it helped when that's the best I could do.

I bought one on Amazon. I loved the lay out and the functionality, unfortunately both of mine broke in a matter of months. So, don't know if this has any bearing on your purchase, but I wouldn't buy one from this company.

I have one. It's ok, takes a bit to get used to though.

I have one. If you are new to GT5 you might find it a little better than a DS3. However, if you have used a stick controller for a long period of time, it isn't really any better. The throttle and brake controller don't give you that much better feel. At half or slightly less you are at full throttle or brake. The steering really doesn't give you much more control than what you have with your stick.
If you are serious about GT you should save your money and look for a deal on a DFGT or G27. If money is no object, well there are some pretty high end wheels and pedals out there for you and you shouldn't even be looking at this controller.

One of my friends got this pad before he finnaly got his DFGT, he hated it and said it felt like he had less control than with a DS3.
Either way you would think there would be more products like this out there.

I had one and I loved it to death. It no longer works though. That's my only complaint, it isn't as dependable as other controllers. Though, I used it every day.
