Bring on the baby!!!

No sex, eh? That must be frustrating. Hopefully you're using this time to get all the sleep you can! Once again, good luck.

It is yeah, It's not helped by the fact my drive is very high to!
I'm calm about it though, it's not like it can be helped so I guess I have to (Begrudingly) accept it :grumpy:

The baby won't have space to kick now! I think most women worry when they don't feel the baby move for a couple of hours, we borrowed a doppler heart listener a friend for our second baby and had good results with it but the issue that put me off is if you don't point it in the right direction you don't hear anything which would be a worry. If you do buy or borrow one also get some ultrasound gel as it makes it much more effective.

If you think she's narky now wait until it's 2 weeks to go...or 2 weeks overdue

Seriously, work the logistics out...borrow someones engine lift it necessary :sly:

Good points!
We talked about getting the Dopler thing, but MrsMad used one at work (She works in an office where it seems the women are perminately pregnant!) and couldn't find the beat for ages, she got really worried and stressed out so i'm not sure it's a good idea lol

And trust me, logistics are the hot topic in my brain at the moment

Stealth and surprise. 👍

So, everyone's knackered, stressed and unpredictable? Don't worry, everything seems to be progressing as normal. ;)

Yeah tensions are a little higher than usual...but i'm trying to be patient, I think I cracked mainly due to other "frustrations"

Its all worth it when your little one starts smiling properly at you, and giggling when you do something they think is funny :D Mrs.Spun is starting to talk about having another little one already! I don't think I'm ready yet but having them closer together is apparently a good thing?

At least there's one excellent side effect from the offering.

Another one?!

Good luck with that lol

I'm looking forward to experiencing what you have, I long to see my little girls smile, I can just imagine how that would make you happy, I want that feeling 👍

Yeah, it makes the lack of sex a lot more bearable, knowing it's all for the greater good. Well, kind of bearable :)

Wow its been a while since I looked on this thread :) mini mikes nearly here and mike has balls about to bust  good luck and ruddy calm down! Your making me stressed thinking about it :D has a name been decided yet or discussed at all or am I that out of touch on this thread

You missed the part where Mike decided the baby will be named Shemette or Shem II according to sex? That was the best part!!!

To the OP,

just found this thread so you'll excuse me for not reading through the last 22 pages. Congratulations on the impending birth of your daughter. We had a girl first as well, and now have a son. They're 5 and 2 respectively.

My tip #1 - if there is anything you want to do or want to buy, do it now - RIGHT NOW!

Being a father puts you on a rollercoaster of emotions. Take care of Mrs Mad - you think you love her now? Wait until you see her holding your daughter. Your women are godesses - treat them as such 👍 (if you're unsure about this, ask Mrs Mad, I'm sure she'll confirm my thoughts :sly:)

Tip #2 - buy a digital camera if you don't have one and take loads of pictures - I mean THOUSANDS of the things. In amongst the sleepness nights and the dirty nappies, children change very quickly and it's very easy to forget what they were like.

Kids are awesome - my 2yo old sat down on the bed next to me this morning and said 'love you Daddy'... and then he wee'd on my foot

Good luck buddy - this is real mans work!

PS. My wife has PCOS as well. It took us a year to concieve our daughter. Our son was concieved first time  Moral of the story - be careful when you get back on the wagon

I wondered where you went Ellisnutt  Good to see you back, and thanks 👍

Carlos, thanks for the tips, I really enjoyed reading your post :D

One thing I have noticed is that I have never heard anyone say they regret parenthood, I imagine what it feels like, but I bet the feeling is way better than what I imagine.

It's obvious you've never spoken to my father! He got his first grey hair when I popped out and he was only 18. ;)

The first thing ny dad said when he first held me was

"Christ look at the size of his nose"

Touching really

I have just calculated that Minimike should arrive sometime near to the 25th April which is only about a week and a half from my birthday. Good luck mate. Hope all goes well

Single Player is always an option. 💡

Ok, here we go.....

Week 31 update

http://www.pregnancyguideonline.com/wk31.htm

So, what has the Mad house been up too? Well, we visited the wife's family over the weekend, it was much the same as our other visits, but it's always nice seeing everyone.

Lawson (my nephew) was rather poorly, he had a cold and Conjunctivitis, he looked very poorly and was (quite rightly) grumpy.
It was interesting seeing and learning how to care for a sick baby, he is only like 9 months old...

After spending ages sorting out the Nursary and getting it nice, we are now ripping it all down and starting again.... Why? well MrsMad saw some wall stickers she prefers and they were reasonably cheap so brought them. I liked the previous decor, but I could see MrsMad was happier with the stickers so I agreed to change it. Ultimately i'm not really fussed either way, and it's probably best a woman decorates a girls room...although scraping the old stickers off is going to test my patience :grumpy:

Her SPD is still playing up, and seemingly getting worse...getting off the sofa/bed/car seat is agony for her, I wish I could help but there is nothing I can do :nervous:

I'm afraid my brain has gone dead....I will have to add to this post a little later.

Right, think I have more to add now.
Today I went to Tesco's, there was 1 item on my shopping list, Tea tree and Mint shower gel. Why? Well MrsMad seems to have developed a craving, she craves the smell of this shower gel

I have had time to gather my thoughts, they mainly consist of a slight feeling of helplessness, watching my wife struggle to move around and generally live her life is somewhat upsetting, I wish I could help but there seems very little I can do.
I also feel like i'm ready to be a dad now, it's taken a long time to come to terms with the thought of parenthood, but now i'm in the mindset I feel I can do it, I want to be a great father and it feels raw and real now. Don't get me wrong i'm still nervous about it all but at least I feel that I now have the tools and correct mind for the task.

Just keep strong Mike, all this will be worth it when your little one pops out. :)

Wow Mike, and I thought that my better half was demanding?

It will all be worth it mate 👍

Well, at least she's only craving the smell of shower gel and not spreading it on her toast. Although you could see that working...

Nice update and we're all getting excited along with you. 👍

I thought everyone liked the smell of shower gel? It's like Tipex, it's impossible to dislike. I spend a lot of lessons sniffing Tipex.

Are you the kid at the back sniffing things you shouldn't  Glue, tip ex, permanent marker etc

I don't like glue, it's horrible.
When my mum was pregnant with MA, she said she had cravings for really dark chocolate. Weird, because she didn't like dark chocolate before that, nor now.

The way she's going it's only a matter of time

As for sniffing stuff...tipex smells nice but be careful, it's still a solvant and can still harm you :nervous:

That being said, I like the smell of petrol :sly:

Petrol smell is awesome! When I studied vehicle mechanics the college had practice engines on stands for the young 'ens. During lunch I would unscrew the tanks and take a big whiff of the fumes and spend the rest of the afternoon high.

Not too long now, eh? :)

This all reminds me of a thread I started about 9 or 10 years ago about how the smell of petrol makes me hungry.

I'm probably about to get the same response now that I did then. ;)

 Nice find. See, the old memory hasn't failed me yet. Neither has my ability to talk crap diminished in any way...

C'mon Mike, it's week 32! Only eight weeks left so it's surely time for an update?

India started teething this week. Ouch for all involved

Indeed it is my good friend!

Teething eh? Good luck with that one

Ok, a little late but here it is:

Week 32 Update

http://www.pregnancyguideonline.com/wk32.htm

Well, what a week it has been! I have spent the last 4 nights on the sofa, and will be spending at least the next couple of nights on there too :ouch:
So, who's a naughty boy huh?, well actually I have been good, my only sin being the horrid man flu distroying my body :grumpy:
Basically MrsMad is getting virtually no sleep thanks to cramp, SBD, Heartburn, and Insomnia...couple that with a snooring, coughing, snorting, and generally whinging husband and she has no hope
Which is why I have (despite my plauge like illness) taken the hit and took to the sofa for several nights on the trot, not great for my back or recovery, but hey-ho.
Normally she would just deal with it, but her work is killing her now, she says she is always exhausted and can't focus on her job, which is made worse with no sleep, thankfully she finishes work on the 9th of March, so a week Friday.

Before the plague, I was busy with DIY, as stated last week we re-re-decorated the Nursery and I finally got round to changing the 3 lightbulbs that have been blown for months  I also fitted new door latches so that our bedroom door actually clicks shut at last, sounds trivial, but all the doors need to stay secured shut. Why? well we have 2 cats that love sleeping on beds and people and there is no way i'm risking one of those fat, furry, flea ridden pests smothering my child.

Which leads to the next subject, Phasing out.
Our cats are the most mollycoddled animals in existance, ever since kittens MrsMad has treated them literally like babies, they stay in every night as it's too cold outside for them, they get groomed, cuddled, and even have slept under the covers in our bed, head on the pillow and everything!
So, as they will be shut out off all 3 rooms once MiniMad is here, we have decided to start shutting them out now, they hate it and keep clawing the carpet trying to get in which leads me to stick a boot up their arses! :D
I must admit I am enjoying this process, the precious, spoilt little runts are finally being treated as what they are, Animals.

So, a lively and expensive week really, hopefully I and the Mrs will feel better by the weekend and can just chill, although I doubt that's likely seeing as I have another list of things to sort out including:

Phoning the CAB regarding benefits
Sorting out the baby changing bag
Sorting out the wifes hospital bag
Finish the Nursery
Sort out the car seat
and other annoying little jobs

Doesn't sound much but it soon drinks up your weekend :grumpy:

Wish me luck!

We have tried it since but sex is still not happening, she helps out in other ways but penetrative intercourse is a no fly zone :grumpy:

I suppose the upside to it is being reminded why we can't get our freak on, the little one thrashing around in my wife's belly, I feel her everyday, and when I talk to her she goes mad, booting around like a good 'un, I love that and it makes me feel like a daddy already :D

I suppose this whole experience is one that I will remember and cherish forever, despite the pro's and Cons
